(3) A garage rock band from Vancouver, British Columbia.
(4) A garage rock two piece from Rome, Italy. The grrrls are playing post-punk garage with a great weird tremelo guitar they call "elephant-fuzz". These two girls (once they were three) have been playing since 2000. Their music is so frantic and energetic that seems hard to believe there isn't a full band. This girly duo is all about rocking hard with a great punkish/d.i.y attitude and a greasy garage sound. Motorama are raw and filthy, just like a riot girl band supposed to be. Their music ranges from the late 80's/early 90's riot grrrls sound which defined bands such as Babes In Toyland and Hole (on their first album) to more forward thinking acts like Sonic Youth and Blonde Redhead to the vibrating energies of Atari Teenage Riot , minus the electronics. Their latest album "Psychotronic is the Beat" was put out by Dead Beat Records. Current line-up: Daniella (guitar, vox), Irene (drums, back vox).

Rose in the Vase
Motorama Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Away from each other
Away from each other
Several years
From highlands and oceans
To lowlands and rivers
Therefore the pain won't stop
I spend my days sitting
In front of the fireplace
You spend your days dying
Like a rose in the vase
New day comes
Days go by
The Motorama song "Rose in the Vase" tells a story of separation and the pain that comes with it. The opening lines, "Several years away from each other" speak to a distance between two individuals that has spanned several years. The lyrics continue to describe how they are in different places, both physically and emotionally. The singer describes himself sitting in front of the fireplace, while the other person is "dying like a rose in the vase." This imagery conveys a sense of fragility and perishability, as if the person is slowly withering away.
The lyrics evoke a sense of sadness and longing, as the singer acknowledges that the pain won't stop. It's as if time has passed, but the distance between the two has only deepened the hurt. The final lines, "New day comes, days go by," suggest that life goes on despite the pain. The separation has become a part of their lives, but it doesn't mean the pain will disappear.
Overall, the song "Rose in the Vase" is a poignant reflection on the pain of separation and the difficulty of moving on. The lyrics use rich and evocative imagery to convey the depth of the emotions involved.

@GustavoTamayoPodcast
Saludos, y excelente banda.

I'm so broken right now, making changes in ones life is never easy, I'm letting go of my first love today, and this song came to my mind as the day went by, and all I can say is that a new day always comes, we gotta stay strong
