Official Bio
Blessed with a golden voice from God, Mr. Danny, a young singer and composer from Trinidad and Tobago is on the path to becoming one of the world's most successful gospel reggae artists. It was evident early in his life that Dannell was musically gifted. At the tender age of five, he and his brother Mark were already know in churches around Central Trinidad as the brothers with the sweet voices.
As the years passed, Mr. Danny's passion for music increases and he remained determined to never to give up on God. As a teen He understood that God created him for a purpose. He was knit in his mother's womb to impact, touch and save as many lost souls for Jesus Christ through the power of song. His style is somewhat like Jamaican reggae singers Jah Cure, Yami Bolo, and Junior Reid and Trinidad's Sherwin Gardner.
International gospel reggae singer/producer Sherwin Gardner discovered Mr. Danny at the Hope Sanctuary International church in Enterprise Village, Chaguanas. Sherwin found this talent while rehearsing for the Kirk Franklin concert that was held in Trinidad 2004. The producer loved what he heard but found that it was to early in the game to sign the young star.
It did not stop here. Danny went on to sing with known gospel star Jadee and formed a group called Altar Call. A few months later he got signed to Flow Master Records and release the hit single "Divine" on Turn Up Vol. 1. This song filled the airwaves and took Trinidad and Tobago by storm. By the end of 2005, "Divine" landed the #3 position in the top twenty gospel songs for 2005 in Trinidad. This breakout hit went on to be nominated for "Song of the Year" on the Gospel Reggae category at the 2005 UGI Awards.
Within just seven months, the twenty-one year old singer had become one of Trinidad and Tobago's fastest rising gospel stars. He is beloved by many for his voice, music and the way he delivers his messages on stage with such class and assurance. Danny has now moved up the ladder by releasing his long awaiting solo debut, also titled "Divine". This album contains hit songs featuring Sherwin Gardner, Shiselon, Jadee and Altar Call. Thematically, the album contains lyrics that are geared towards the poor and hurting people in his land.
Even though his fans adore Danny, he humbly claims that he is just a vessel that Master God uses. It is his desire that all honor and glory are directed towards God alone. He strives for excellence because the God We serves is an excellent God. Danny learned at a very young age that nothing comes easy in life. He is a firm believer that hard work brings great rewards.
This is only the beginning of the success and ministry that God has paved out for Mr. Danny. Expect more from this talented and passionate rising gospel reggae star.
Exclusive Interview with GospelReggae.com
GR: Tell us a little about yourself.
Danny: My real name is Dannel Darious Flaveny. I was born at the Chaguanas Health Center in Chaguanas in the year 1984. I'm 22 years of age and I'm of mixed decent. I grew up in the village called Enterprise (ghetto). I lived with my both parents, my brother and my sister. I was the smallest in the house. My family is very loving, kind, funny and they raised me the best way they knew how. I love them a lot.
GR: How did you start singing?
Danny: I began singing at the tender age of five years old alongside my brother mark, because my mother realized that we had a talent that was beyond our age. She pushed us in a way that made me eventually love singing. I guess music was a part of my life from an early stage.
GR: How did your name come about?
Danny: Well the name Mr. Danny came about from my deceased mom's side of the family. I was always referred to as Danny boy throughout my life. It happened where my mom died in 2004 and I got signed to Sherwin Gardner's record label (Flow masters) in 2005 so I named myself Mr. Danny in loving memory of my mom.
GR: What's the biggest mistake that you have made as a minister?
Danny: My biggest mistake I ever made a minister was keeping my face very serious throughout an entire concert. The news came back to me with sayings like Mr. Danny is full of pride and he has an attitude problem lol. I guess that is something I'll never do again as a minister and as a person. I learned that people look at the way you move and analyze you before they even get to know you. So I keep a smile on my face now and things are a lot better with my fans and I.
GR: If you could share the stage with any Christian or secular artist in the world (living or dead) who would it be?
Danny: I would have to say Jah Cure but that will have to be when he gives his entire life to Jesus Christ cause I pray for him a lot.
GR: I know that you have written a whole heap of songs in the past, but what's your favorite one?
Danny: that song would be "One Day" featuring Sherwin Gardner
GR: What is the wickedest riddim that you never rode upon?
Danny: That would be the riddim that my single "Divine" is on. Arranged by DJ Frost.
GR: What Bible character do you most identify yourself with?
Danny: Daniel
GR: What do you have to say about (or to) artists that started off in the Christian industry (CBA) doing gospel music and now sing secular (mainstream) with a watered down, or ambiguous message?
Danny: It's time to come back home God has not given up on you.
GR: What career goal did you abandon for music?
Danny: That would be being a Pilot and working for the Government of Trinidad and Tobago.
GR: Name one thing that fans do not know about you.
Danny: I'm a very playful person
GR: Name something personal that gives you great satisfaction.
Danny: Being able to be loved for who you are by your loved ones
GR: What has been your lowest moment so far in life?
Danny: The day my mother died
GR: What has been your highest moment?
Danny: Being on stage and being received by fans and onlookers.
GR: What is your philosophy of stage ministry? Is there any one message that you always want to leave with your audience?
Danny: I am not here to mainly perform but to minister God's word first and foremost. My message is that I'm just a vessel that God uses so all glory goes to him and that Jesus and myself loves you.
GR: What are the three things you enjoy most about touring? And least?
Danny: 1) The idea that there are people waiting to hear what it is I have to say. 2) Getting to visit another country. 3) I get to meet other ministers like myself.
GR: What is the best audience that you have ever played in front of?
Danny: That would be the Pilgrimage concert in 2006 at Trinidad
GR: What country would you tour (even if you didn't get paid to perform)?
Danny: Anywhere in the continent of Africa
GR: What goes through your mind before you go onstage at the average show?
Danny: please God help me not to make any mistakes
GR: Do you prefer being in the studio or on the road??
Danny: On the road
GR: If you could whisper in the ears of youths aspiring to start a music ministry like yours, what would you say?
Danny: It is a lot of hard work, but once you stay focused and let God lead the way, you will come out successful.
GR: Are you working on any future projects/releases that we should look out for?
Danny: Of course there will be more from Mr. Danny. Look out for sweet songs that are anointed and powerful that will be coming your way
GR: Could you please give a message to the reggae fans that are reading this and would like to know more about your faith and who Jesus is to you?
Danny: To everyone that reads this; I'll start by saying Jesus is the BEST person that you will ever encounter in you entire life. Never forget this. If you don't know him don't wait any longer--time will run out on you.
Ministry
My mission is to reach the youth of today in a relevant way through the sound of gospel reggae. I want to set an example and be a role model. It is my desire to continue to allow the Lord to use me as His vessel and to bring pure music and the gospel of Jesus Christ to the hearts of mankind.

In the lyrics to Mr. Danny's song "I Know," he sings about feeling overwhelmed by his love for someone, to the point of feeling comatose or addicted. Despite social distancing, this person still follows him on Instagram and makes him feel invincible, like Superman. He's trying to make them understand how much they mean to him and has been thinking about a future together. However, he acknowledges that there have been arguments and mistakes made in the past, but he wants to move past them and focus on the present.
The second verse delves into some of the issues that the relationship has faced, with Mr. Danny feeling confused about why his partner has been spreading rumors about him. He's frustrated that he's seen as the only one making mistakes, while also feeling like he's constantly learning and figuring things out in regards to relationships. The chorus repeats that he knows he's made mistakes, but he wants to move forward and not dwell on the past.
Overall, the song captures the ups and downs of a relationship, with Mr. Danny's lyrics showcasing his vulnerability and self-awareness. The mix of catchy beats and thoughtful lyrics make it a relatable and enjoyable tune.
