Mr. Del's music is widely recognized as Holy Hip Hop, it is laced with beats that range from southern street to east coast bounce. His undeniable energetic flow can be compared to that of many legendary Hip Hop greats, but his message is strong enough to penetrate the soul and edgy enough to catch the attention of youth everywhere.
Mr. Del began writing, drumming and spinning as a child. He has released three albums on his independent label Holy South (of which he is President and CEO). He was nominated for Grammy in 2005 for the "Best Rock Gospel Album" category for his fiery feature "Shake 'em Off" on EMI Gospel's Holy Hip Hop: Taking the Gospel to the Streets, Vol. I. In 2005, Mr. Del fulfilled his dream of being on a major label and inked a deal with EMI Gospel. In August of 2005, this combined venture yielded its first album entitled "The Future". Recently, his second chapter was released entitled "Hope Dealer”
His lyrical style has been featured on music with legendary Hip Hop artist Cheryl “Salt” James of Salt-N-Pepa Fabo of D4L and Gospel artists Kirk Whalum, Lisa McClendon, Out of Eden, Debra Killings and label mate Canton Jones. He has also opened for Kirk Franklin, Tonex and a host of other Gospel greats.
His new album, Thrilla, will be released June 30th, 2009 on his new label deal with Universal Music Christian Group.

Mr. Del Lyrics

Time has come to ring out
One last time
Ive spent three hours staring at
Empty hands
That lay lifeless
Just like our plans
You'll find me running back home
Dial my number that youve memorised alone
Ill be on the end
Waiting
This couch is bare
Been collecting dust
Its been vacant
For a while
The air around me seems so cold
Cos you're not around
Im trying not to have another breakdown
Youll find me running back home
To try and catch you picking up your cell phone
Dial my number that youve memorised alone
Ill be on the end
Waiting
Stop the clocks cause their
Time has come to ring out
One last time
Ive spent three hours staring at
Empty hands
That lay lifeless
Just like our plans
Ive spent three hours staring at
Empty hands
Til you start them up again
The lyrics to Mr. Del's song Lurkin' In Me speak to the pain and longing of lost love. The singer is feeling lost and alone, spending three hours staring at empty hands that lay lifeless, just like the plans he and his partner made together. He finds himself running back home, hoping to catch his partner picking up their cell phone, so he can speak to them and try to bridge the gap between them. The absence of his partner is felt deeply, as the couch he sits on has been vacant for a while and the air around him seems cold.
The chorus repeats a line about stopping the clocks because their time has come to ring out one last time, as if the relationship has reached its final moments. The singer is desperate to reconnect with his partner, trying not to have another emotional breakdown. The final lines of the song speak to the hope that things can be started up again, that the hands that lay lifeless can be brought back to life.
Overall, the lyrics paint a picture of heartbreak and longing for a love that has been lost. The singer is struggling to come to terms with their relationship's end and is hoping for some way to reconnect with their partner.
