Mr. Del's music is widely recognized as Holy Hip Hop, it is laced with beats that range from southern street to east coast bounce. His undeniable energetic flow can be compared to that of many legendary Hip Hop greats, but his message is strong enough to penetrate the soul and edgy enough to catch the attention of youth everywhere.
Mr. Del began writing, drumming and spinning as a child. He has released three albums on his independent label Holy South (of which he is President and CEO). He was nominated for Grammy in 2005 for the "Best Rock Gospel Album" category for his fiery feature "Shake 'em Off" on EMI Gospel's Holy Hip Hop: Taking the Gospel to the Streets, Vol. I. In 2005, Mr. Del fulfilled his dream of being on a major label and inked a deal with EMI Gospel. In August of 2005, this combined venture yielded its first album entitled "The Future". Recently, his second chapter was released entitled "Hope Dealer”
His lyrical style has been featured on music with legendary Hip Hop artist Cheryl “Salt” James of Salt-N-Pepa Fabo of D4L and Gospel artists Kirk Whalum, Lisa McClendon, Out of Eden, Debra Killings and label mate Canton Jones. He has also opened for Kirk Franklin, Tonex and a host of other Gospel greats.
His new album, Thrilla, will be released June 30th, 2009 on his new label deal with Universal Music Christian Group.

In my mind the distance is about to grow
It's getting late, I feel that you need me
Really don't mind if you come see me oh
I know
You don't have to go babe
Out of your way
But that don't mean that you gotta
When I say
Hold on and don't let go
I want you to stay
We know that we're both lonely
We should be more than friends
Hold on and don't let go
I want you to stay
You don't have to leave in the morning
We should be more than friends
Top, top, bottom
Top, top, bottom
Top, top, bass
It's getting late, I lost my train
Ain't got no place to go
Maybe now it's time for us to
Let our feelings show
Fatty craving my attention need no lipo
We could do this thing together
Let your pride go
Tongue kissing, reminiscing in the showers
Why don't we put these weapons down
And let the melanin powers flow
Hold on and don't let go
I want you to stay
We know that we're both lonely
We should be more than friends
Hold on and don't let go
I want you to stay
You don't have to leave in the morning
We should be more than friends
When I say that I don't want you, no
Hold on and don't let go
I want you to stay
We know that we're both lonely
We should be more than friends
Hold on and don't let go
I want you to stay
You don't have to leave in the morning
We should be more than friends
Hold on
Hold on
We know that we are both lonely my babe
We should be more than friends
The lyrics of Mr. Del's song "More Than a Conqueror" portrays a relationship dynamic between two individuals who have feelings for each other but are hesitant to take the next step to be intimate. The opening lines of the song establish the singer's desire for the person they are thinking about, even if distance is a barrier. However, the lyrics go on to suggest that this person may not feel the same way, and the singer is willing to accept that. The chorus emphasizes the desire to move beyond friendship and be more intimate.
The verse that follows reinforces the idea of the singer's willingness to emotionally connect with this person by suggesting that they may be insecure about their body and need validation from the other person. The verse goes on to describe a physical encounter between the two, suggesting that they should put their insecurities aside and enjoy each other's company. The chorus repeats, emphasizing that they should not let go of their feelings for each other.
Overall, the song portrays the complexity of intimate relationships and the challenges of overcoming insecurities.
