He is known for his raps, songs and choruses in both Dutch and English. Apart from being a performing artist himself, he is also active as song writer and producer.
In the hip hop scene Mr. Probz is known for the critically acclaimed songs 'Drivin', 'Who Are You' and 'Get My Props', a string of hits in his native language in The Netherlands and many collaborations with well known hip hop artists in the United States. Despite offers to sign with record labels, both in The Netherlands and in the US, Mr. Probz decided to keep building a strong foundation in Europe as an independent artist.
Mr. Probz had been creatively active since a young age, already occupying himself with graffiti as a youngster and writing lyrics about his every day experiences. At a young age he was faced with the typical trials and tribulations of inner city youth growing up, spending large portions of his time on the streets and viewing his music as the one path out of a life of poverty and crime.
August 6 th 2010, Mr. Probz got shot down in the centre of Amsterdam. In the hospital the popular hip hop artist received massive attention from the Dutch media and support from fellow musicians and fans. Within days after his release from the hospital, Mr. Probz was already back to focusing on his music. Half a year after the accident, the Dutch hit song ‘Meisje Luister’ of him and Kleine Viezerik was a #1 hit at the FunX Hip Hop Chart.
In 2010 Mr. Probz was nominated for a BNN/State Award in the category ‘Best Artist’. He was the first unsigned artist to get this nomination in the award show’s history.
In the Dutch motion picture 'Bolletjes Blues' Mr. Probz plays the role of lead character Jimmy. ‘Bolletjes Blues’ was the first Dutch hip hop film.
In his career Mr. Probz recorded and worked closely with artists like Alchemist, Joell Ortiz, Joe Budden, Scott Storch, Yukmouth, Grafh, Raekwon, Royce da 5’9 and Giorgio Tuinfort (Konvict Music), among many others.
Currently Mr. Probz is readying his debut album, called ‘The Treatment’.
Gold Days

Give them away
The whole town was burning, burning, burning
Gold days
Give them away
The whole town was burning, burning, burning
Riding in this hooptie with the rust stains
I'm day dreaming all day, hoping that I can wake up
Lounging in my castle with the windows all draped up
And my pockets all caked up, no stress
Guess I'm gonna have to wait until I'm dead to get some rest huh
You know the mirror never lies
My girl giving me hell because I ain't hearing her cries
She call me 5 or 6 times on the phone and I ain't replied
I'm a young man with dreams, nothing in between
I told myself one day that I would understand the bigger scheme
If you come from where I came from you know what I mean
Those were them
Gold days
(I could never)
Give them away, away
(I made sure)
The whole town was burning, burning, burning
(Those were them)
Gold days
(I could never)
Give them away, away
(I made sure)
The whole town was burning, burning, burning
Sunny weather, people with you, when it's clouds they run for cover
The one that stood beside me was my motherfucking mother
Moving on to better days, put my kids through college
Your mind is young, copping Jordans, eating chicken wings
Trophy case filled, you fucking with a winner
I'm at a roaring boil, other suckers simmer
You see my shirt it's expensive like the dinner
That's why I rock a bib motherfucker because it's linen
I only talk about what I know and some other shit
You on some angel eyes, sneaky undercover shit
Intricate plots constructed during boredom
I'm in the streets from Kissena out to Fordham
Peace to my family I hold you down forever
I love my children's mother even though we're not together
All I ask is honesty, ayo honestly
Fuck around and we could've been a dynasty
Gold days
(I could never)
Give them away, away
(I made sure)
The whole town was burning, burning, burning
(Those were them)
Gold days
(I could never)
Give them away, away
(I made sure)
The whole town was burning, burning, burning
The song "Gold Days" by Mr. Probz is a reflection on the good times gone by, and the struggles of the present. The song opens with a description of a rough neighborhood and the daily grind of trying to "get a buck off of this cocaine". But even as he daydreams of a better life, the singer is haunted by his girlfriend's cries for attention, and the knowledge that his dreams may never come true.
The chorus repeats the mantra "Gold days, give them away" as a reminder that the good times are fleeting and that one should give them away to those less fortunate. The song continues with a description of the singer's rise to success, from crowded apartments to "lounging in my castle...pockets all caked up, no stress." However, the singer is quick to acknowledge that success hasn't come without cost, as he misses the simpler times and the people who made them special.
The final verse is a reflection on the importance of family and perseverance. The singer acknowledges that success is not just about money and material possessions, but about the people around you who help you achieve it. He also acknowledges that even in the face of challenges and setbacks, one must stay true to oneself and always strive for honesty and integrity.
Overall, the song is a poignant reflection on the fleeting nature of success and the importance of staying true to oneself and one's values.
