That bit hits way too hard....

I myself have a demon or two inside, rightfully so in most cases, to spite what others would assume.... I would burn the world to cinder for what has been lost, topple thrones, bury gods, and find rest only upon their ashes.... Not even her word could stay my punishment for taking her away.....

Though I wont admit it, though he who would runs from the very notion as in his eyes innocence is no excuse, the truth is......

.....the thing that can end a blind indifferent rage is the undue suffering of those unable to protect themselves, or even understand why. A good man knows no one should have to suffer as they have. We stand on the event horizon of that black hole inside us threatening to swallow all joy and happiness, taking all that is good an compressing it into its singularity of infinite nothingness where even the concept of nothing holds too much substance to convey its true form. And we will stay there, with you, staring into the gaping maw of that void, only so you dont feel alone. So you know even if your footing slips, there is someone there to hold you back from the welcoming vex of the eternal embrace its soulless void offers..... Because no one should be made to feel as we do.

.....unfortunately that still leaves those who should have protected them in the first place..... [starts the machine of bone and blood boring through every tiny pocket dimension the infinite pan-dimensional beings who dreamed this madness into being believe they could hide, before they meet their impossible inevitability they will glimpse my visage, and with tears of blackest bubbling pitch streaming down my face I will burn their always am into dusts of the could never be until all that remains is the fading nightmare memory of a childs fevered dream]......If loss has not left you in a similar state, you have only known the, still valid but ultimately, superficial hallmark disney love sold to you in cards and books. True Love breaks you. It breaks you in a way that even pulling apart the very fibers of existence cannot repair.

.....Basically, mood.

She could save you.....but she is no longer here. And you are stuck with me.

Iā€™ve figured out why I donā€™t like all of Clara ā€“ thatā€™s not a total dislike but she has been my least favorite companion.

ā€œWell if Danny Pink can do it, so can I.ā€

She reduces Danny to some name, some guy, and in that line, I hated her. She was supposed to have been madly in love with Danny and she merely dismisses his so called importance in her life, it rubbed me the wrong way and it still does. She dismissed the fact that she tortured the Doctor; that she made him find Danny, and in doing so had the Doctor do her bidding.

If Danny really was that important and all-consuming to her maybe she shouldā€™ve said something of ā€œIā€™ll see Danny again. Let me brave.ā€

Instead, just as always, compares herself (just like she does with the Doctor) to Danny that if he can do it, so can she, as if sheā€™s making this great big sacrificeā€¦ No, she wasnā€™t, she was stupid and got herself killed. Got the Doctor mourning and hurting and she makes it worse with ā€œItā€™s an order.ā€

Had she really been a good companion she really would have accepted the Doctorā€™s reaction to her death and Dannyā€™s own death.

Thatā€™s why I think Clara is my least favorite, I hate watching her go because she reduces Danny to a mere human just like the Doctor does other people every once in a whileā€¦

At least we know that the Doctor knows that he isnā€™t this great person, whereas she does not and that's why I can't see her past Episode 8 of season 10.

I think you're vastly distorting her actions here to fit some sort of grudge you'd already formed against her character. In this scene, Clara accepts that she is the cause behind her death and she spends most of her remaining time on this Earth trying to help the Doctor accept her death because she KNOWS it will hurt him so deeply he will go to the ends of the world to bring her back, and she doesn't want anyone hurt on her behalf.

Saying she could only be a good companion if she "accepted the Doctor's reaction to her death" is baffling because his reaction is him saying "i will betray all of my values to burn down the world to save you" and she's saying, "but that's not who you want to be, who I know you strive to be. don't hurt anyone because I made a mistake, be a doctor." she's protecting him out of love, making her a far better companion than if she blindly agreed with every reaction the Doctor has to something.

To me, it's clear the danny pink line is her saying "he was brave when facing death and I want to be brave as well". she's bolstering herself to be strong by thinking of him, and she says it in a casual way because she's just had it confirmed for her that she's the walking dead and she's scrambling to figure out how to process her feelings and also walk the Doctor through this with only two minutes to go.

your interpretation seems to hinge on the misunderstanding that danny pink was the love of Clara's life. But he wasn't. the series made it very clear that clara chose the doctor over danny again and again, and she was only able to choose danny over the doctor when danny was dead -- perhaps out of guilt for all the times she didn't make him the priority. she loved danny very deeply and when she lost him she reacted in a horrible way -- an understandable way, a way the doctor immediately forgave her for. to act like her actions then are only understandable if danny was the love of her life and like this line while she's struggling to accept her death is her mocking the love of her life shows a huge lack of understanding of the nuances of clara's relationship to the two most important men in her life.

Clara is one of the most complex, interesting companions, with contradictions and a strong sense of morals and a huge capacity for love and a selfish and self-destructive streak. she's the most like the Doctor any companion has been, and this scene is beautiful because it displays all of those traits -- the good and the bad, the brave and kind and the selfish and controlling.

"The Doctor is no longer here! You are stuck with me!" Powerful moment. I like how Moffat's era saw the main character as someone who isn't the Doctor, but ASPIRES to the name everyday, that he is a flawed hero who tries to live up to the title. In the 50th anniversary, when Clara tells them - "do what you always do. Be the doctor." - I get chills.

The Doctor has only ever discarded the title of Doctor once, when he had to do unspeakable things, i think the wording here was very deliberate

Blank Space

I LOVE the power in this scene, Clara knows exactly what the Doctor is capable of, and that in his grief he can tear down worlds in an instant.
All she can think of is protecting others from HIM. Clara is the ONLY character who sees how close to being the Master any Timelord is, she's the only one besides his enemies that respects that.

Sorry

ā€œI will reign hell on you, for the rest of timeā€

Jesus, I forgot he was a warlord for a sec.

Hitchbot

"Did you ever hear anything about anyone who stopped me?" A pretty solid setup for the next episode.

"Your reign of terror will end at the sight of the first crying child and you know it."

@Inded Games "so that's it Doctor? You never interfere with the lives of others.... unless they're children crying." -Amy Pond

I know it's not exact and that's just paraphrasing but still. That's from The Beast Below too if you're wondering where in of itself the doctor is compared to the star whale as just being old and kind.

Inded Games

Then she doesnt knew him

I think Peter Capaldi was the best doctor.

Shadow of The Dragon

I liked Matt Smith the best. Suits my taste. Anger, dangerous, goofy, tearful.
