Uncorrupted
Museum Lyrics

Lonely hours
Uncorrupted thoughts.
I'm not like you
but I can fit the role perfectly.
"I am afraid of the world;
I know it can hurt."
The lyrics to Museum's song "Uncorrupted" speak to the idea of feeling isolated and alone in one's thoughts and experiences. The first line, "silent sunsets," conjures an image of contentment and peace, but the following line, "lonely hours," hints that this peace may be fleeting. The singer refers to their thoughts as "uncorrupted," perhaps implying that they are pure and untainted by external influences, but this may also suggest a sense of being separate from others, as if their thoughts and experiences do not quite fit with the world around them.
The following line, "I'm not like you," highlights this sense of separateness, the feeling of being different from those around them. The singer then suggests that they are able to "fit the role perfectly" despite this difference, perhaps implying that they have learned to hide or suppress their true selves in order to fit in with societal expectations. The final line, "I am afraid of the world; I know it can hurt," speaks to the fear and vulnerability that can come with being different or feeling isolated.
Overall, these lyrics speak to the complex emotions that can arise from feeling different or separate from others, and the potential consequences of trying to fit in with societal norms.
