A town where there is nothing to do but rob banks, partake in heists and play music in a garage that is about 120 degrees with like 80 percent humidity. Two words: instant swamp-ass. With the oldest members of the band being just barely 19, My Getaway is something more than your cliché rock. When it comes to My Getaway every little thing counts, even their name… "My Getaway came easy to us, this band is our escape from the dry work force and our town which caters to seniors and not the youth" stated Joshua Cobb. The entire band of My Getaway actually enjoy what they do and who they do it with; these boys do not understand the word "rest" and are completely dedicated to their music. How else would a bunch of 18-19 year olds be able to juggle girlfriends, high school, a social life, part time jobs, practice and still be able to travel out of state to play shows on the weekends?
The band is entirely run by the members themselves. They created their own website (graphics, designs and everything else), designed every article of merchandize, promoted their hearts out (the band has been featured on www.emotionalpunk.com, www.absolutepunk.net, www.frequencyreviews.com, received a contract to be on the Drive-Thru Records/ Purevolume unsigned bands compilation and a feature article in the Daytona Beach News-Journal- to name a few), and is now starting to draw in larger crowds in their central Florida venues (House of Blues, The Social, Backbooth) one show at a time. Their live show has been said to be an excellent display of raw emotion, bursting with enthusiasm.
The band recorded a demo in the fall of 2004, which featured six songs; they have been demoing songs ever since and now have well over 25 songs recorded under their belt. Their plays on purevolume have hit
the 85,000 mark – an incredible feat for a band that has not been signed to any record label, nor received any professional promotion of any sort. The band plans to keep the demos coming, recording on
average six a month. They have also begun to record other local acts in their makeshift "bedroom studio" just to stay sharp.
My Getaway's rock machine has just gotten started. They plan to contine the barrage of demos and continue to wreak havoc on the Florida countryside, playing one show at a time.

@Reformed Christian Teaching Except, what if Jesus wasn't The Messiah, like the Pharisees claimed, and the Jews actually have it right instead of the Christians?
OR
What if the whole Messiah thing was just a really good made up story and neither the Jews or the Christians have it right?
There is no empirical evidence that any "miracle" written in the Bible ever actually occurred. You have to take it on faith to believe it. Every thing you wrote in your last comment takes faith to believe. None of it can be proven(hence why it's called faith-belief in the unprovable).
So, again, may I respectfully suggest you don't claim to know what's going to happen and what one has to do or not do to make it happen a certain way. If you want to tell people what you BELIEVE will happen...you're perfectly right to do so. But until any of it can be measured, recorded and studied through legitimate scientific methodology, you don't really know what you're claiming to know. You believe it through faith. That's the distinction I'm trying to get you to understand.
