In that old silk hat they found
Specifically, they believe that the old silk hat they found was the source of the magic

For when they placed it on his head
Once they put the hat on Frosty's head

He began to dance around
It caused him to come to life and start dancing

So he said let's run

With a broomstick in his hand
Frosty held a broomstick, perhaps as a makeshift cane or weapon

Running here and there all around the square
They were sprinting and racing around the village square

Saying catch me if you can
Frosty verbally challenged the children to try and capture him

He led them down the streets of town
Frosty acted as a leader, guiding the children around town

Right to the traffic cop
Their journey led them to a traffic officer

And he only paused a moment when
Frosty didn't stop for long before continuing on the adventure

He heard him holler stop
The officer attempted to stop them, but to no avail

Had to hurry on his way
Eventually, Frosty had to leave to avoid melting completely

But he waved goodbye
He didn't leave without saying goodbye

Saying don't you cry
Frosty reassured the children not to be sad about his departure

I'll be back again some day
