Lawlor has played in all manner of cheap resteraunts, bars, venues etc.
Of late, he has opened for some of the artists he admires, Billy Joe Shaver, Jim Lauderdale, James Burton, Sea Sick Steve, Kevin Welch, Kieran Kane & Fats Kaplin.
One of his biggest influences, Sam Shepard, recently played a set of songs with Lawlor at his Whelan's residency. Lately he has also been working with Shane MacGowan on various launches and a Late Late Show TV appearance.
Currently Lawlor is arranging a body of songs with a view too recording.
Playing lap steel, Dobro & Pedal Steel he has found himself in much demand as a session player in and around Dublin.
