It probably implies directly that: Malos' will, and Pneuma (Since the Core Crystal could be the two of them together, making the Gauntlet and Sheath of The Sword of the End/Origin) have been there since the very beginning.

Rex seems to have had no clue where Pyra and Mythra were located. He just thought them gone, and it really crushed him.

What I propose is: Pyra/Mythra, as explained in X3 ending. Their wills are the Sword of The End/Origin and the power of Ouroboros. What ultimately brings upon the end of the Endless Cycle. Is the weapons that they provide to stop it, cut it.

An amazing youtuber made a whole video about he suggested that maybe the Ouroboros' power was Nia's will, and Melia's was the Sword. But I think he also suggested that it would be Pyra/Mythra directly.

If this was their wills at hand... Pyra and Mythra have always been with us, and all future generations of Noah/Mio.

Google search it real quick. An image of "Noah Gauntlet" it has been there ALL ALONG. The emerald light, the trinity processor's symbol on the sheath... the Circle Shape, that covers and protects the Core Crystal...

- who are the other 2 children in the picture with Rex, Mythra, Pyra, and Nia. We already know Glimmer but we don't know who the other 2 are (some theorize Nia's child is Mio)

- What exactly happened to Pyra and Mythra, it's vaguely talked about that they aren't around anymore

- This one is pure personal bias but I wish Shulk and Rex told their kids who they are😂

- A little bit more closure on the main cast when the world fused again free of Mobeius control

People who theorize this could be seriously wrong. In the mirage prior to the battle with Alpha, we can see "Elysium" as it was before Klaus activated the Conduit, and in the radio broadcast we can hear the Project Exodus being mentioned and the date when the group of spaceships in which the White Whale was in was going to depart, July 2054.

This could potentially mean that Klaus activated the Conduit AFTER several spaceships left.

It doesn't quite add up because the broadcast sounds too mellow for an operation that was supposed to be a countermeasure against the alien forces that would engage close to Earth, not to mention the planet got destroyed shortly after in X's intro, anyway (which is something that could get retconned later on).

If the blue light was Elma arriving to Earth, it doesn't quite make sense either because this re-merged world has Nopon and other fantastical species on it that use "ether" as an energy source. When the people of the White Whale arrived to Mira, none of them knew what the Nopon were.

It's in the air, but I'm excited for the future.

I think my favorite bit of this is the implication that the Sword of the End is using Logos' power. Shulk used the power of Ontos, the creator, and fought to create a new world. Rex used the power of Pneuma, the preserver, and fought in order to protect his world from those who had lost faith in it. It just makes sense then that Noah, who fights to destroy his unnatural reality so that a better one may take its place, uses the power of Logos, the destroyer.

When the Ouroboros lands the finishing blow to Alpha, Alpha also delivered a final blade strike to the Ouroboros with the Monado, mirroring the ending to the battle of the Bionis and Mechonis. Even the fight itself is like a mirror to this, with the two being colossal titans with Godlike powers.

And if you think about it, it also mirrors the base game. N and M are the ones to finally destroy Z, landing the finishing blow. Moebius destroys Moebius. In that way, Ouroboros destroys Alpha, which is associated with Ouroboros and the aspect of discarding the past by destroying it. True way to bookend.

Now I understand why Noah, with his Sword of the End, was the only one with the right to terminate Aionios.
His version of the sword is composed of Origin Metal, Ontos/A's Monado, Pneuma's Fist of the End and, when he came to terms with his Moebius half, Logos was reunited as well. He has the whole Trinity Processor inside his Blade.

He is in a similar position to Klaus, but there's one difference, as this time everyone counted on him. He has the power because humanity as a whole reached a consensus about the future.

Therefore Ontos (in the form of A, Shulk, and Rex holding the world up) was finally able to execute Origin's proper function.

Yknow, I didn't really expect to end up liking Matthew as much as I did. I really expected him to fall into the "lovable idiot" category, but it really did feel like he was his own character. He was very reckless, sure, but he was also very smart. He knew what questions needed to be asked to get the information he wanted, and he understood what he learned. He's very emotionally mature, despite letting the need for revenge overtake him sometimes. But even then, he overcomes those feelings, and understands what needs to be done for the future. I also just loved the big brother energy he emitted, specifically with Na'el, Nikol and Glimmer. Also, shoutout to his VA, Rory Alexander, for giving my favourite performance of the DLC as well.

But that he was someone important and she promised to meet again. We can only hope that this is enough. But I’m also pretty satisfied knowing the fusion happened in the end. actually that light was the two of them fully separating and going back to their respective plains of existence.

Don't forget the base game made it completely clear that they would separate once more and they never even entertained the possibility of them ever properly fusing otherwise such a thing would have mentioned.

While the ending of the base game did offer the possibility of travel between the two worlds that was it, there has never been the possibility of fusion between them.

@Brutto Kane Without naming any specifics, the radio scene basically revealed that Xenoblade is canonically set in the same universe as Xenosaga, and numerous other aspects of the ending sequence further confirms it. There were plenty of references to Xenoblade X and Xenogears, tho they were just references since the lore for those games are directly contradictory, as opposed to saga which fits perfectly and was referenced the most in very direct ways. It's basically confirmed that Xenosaga specifically is an integral part of Xenoblade canon. This is why I'm almost positive that we're getting a Xenosaga remaster/remake/retelling in the coming years.

@Brutto Kane Ah, I see. I'll do my best to avoid spoilers while still answering your question. Xenosaga is set thousands of years into the future (tho I forget the exact year). Humanity has colonized countless other star systems, but has lost the location of earth (which we now know is likely due to Klaus' experiment splitting it up into two separate pocket dimensions, aka, the Xenoblade 1 & 2 worlds). The blue light we see arriving on the newly reformed earth at the end of the FR is almost certainly KOS-MOS at the end of Xenosaga Episode III. So essentially, Xenoblade focuses on the events pertaining to what happened to earth after it was lost, whereas Xenosaga focuses on humanity's existence across space. One of the core plot elements of Xenosaga is them trying to find earth once again, yet we never see in Xenosaga what actually caused earth to be lost in the first place or what became of earth after it was lost, so it's quite significant to learn that Xenoblade is connected since it quite literally answers that burning question.

Such a dope fight and ending cutscene. Love the Zanza theme for Alpha too. Also going back to look at the statues in the City of the founders and seeing the whole party is pretty amazing. Some of the fans were right about the DLC also being an epilogue, because we get to see both worlds fusing back into one at the post credits. That also explains Noah disappearing in the base game's post credits scene, it was both the worlds in the process of re-merging.

It was all amazing
The only thing that I wish that they changed was that Rex and Shulk should've told Glimmer and Nikol about them being their dads, but then again you could argue that it would've put them in a lot of distress.

Vandham mentored Rex who falls in love with Nia (+ Pnuema) and has Mio. Mio meets Noah and has Ghondor. Ghondor eventually grandfathers Matthew and Na'el Who one of em eventually have Guernica Vhandam who has a daughter, Monica. She gives birth to Ghondor Vandham II.
Its also amazing how everyone from the Rex Bloodline doesnt like when Nikol takes a bit to speak. Rex sighs, Mathew tells him to spit it out, Glimmer tells him to work on his conversation skills. I found that pretty funny. Also when you think about it. Mathew was working his Aunt Glimmer and fought along side is great Grandfather Noah (N) and Great Great Father Rex.

Rex in future connected and Shulk are avatars of their true selves. It's why rex wields the blades of pyra and mythra but they aren't there. Glimmer gains her longevity from thr remaining life span of the avatar from Rex. Meaning Rex can no longer manifest an Avatar. Same with Shulk and Nikol.

@Trash Panda it's like a vessel used in order to interact with the world. It can be a physical body created using data stored on Origin. Which is how Rex and Shulk could come to be with out being inserted into the cycle of Aionios. The avatar is most likely a one time thing that can done and the being is treated as a live human with a normal life span. Which is how they transferred their remaining life span to their children. Granting them release from the cycle. Rex and Shulk are not dead, only now they can no longer leave Origin.

Moebius is the process to store all the information of the past, the two worlds. Ouroboros is the process to process that information and create a new path. When Noah and Mio attained both Ouroboros and Moebius powers, Origin could use both to remerge the worlds into one by their wish to both not let go, and still move forward.

I was a complete mess as soon as they started to show Flashbacks from XC1 and XC2 in the ending. Couldn't even listen or read the vocals to the song anymore, that's how loud I cried and how full of tears my eyes had been.

If you look at the radio in the city scene, it had the logo of Vector Industry from Xenosaga and the name Dimitri Yuriev was an antagonist in the game. This cements that Xenosaga is apart of this timeline in a way.

If you ser when Riku gives magic sword to kid. The Aegis Core Crystal was already with Noah. I still don't really know or understand why Pyra+Mythra picked Noah... it could be as simple as like Alvis. They had a Vision or Foresight of who to entrust the power to.

That aside, in the, Noah Getting Lucky 7 cutscene. The little circle where the crystal is protected, is already with Noah in his "Red Sword".

I think people also need to accept the possibility that the falling object is neither Elma nor KOSMOS. It could be something entirely new.

The fact that they leave us with that mini but impactful cliffhanger implies they want to keep the Xenoblade continuity going (e.g not somehow connect it to Sagas or X). They could be drawing inspiration from either/both going forward with the Xenoblade continuity as it enters a new story arc

this is gonna sound cheesy, but I really had a huge connection to this game, I was a bit late for getting into this game. I got into it in 2019 and first tried xenoblade 2, eventually I fell in love with it, I found out that day I absolutely love RPGS, then I found out there was a xenoblade 1, so of course I wanted to try it, and repeatedly I would keep playing them, slowly seeing the connections in the games, then in february 2022, xenoblade chronicles 3 was announced, that day I was in tears of joy, I was so glad my favourite series was coming back, the 2nd game gave me so much comfort, and the 1st game made me think a lot, but that’s what I loved about these games. I remember I was the happiest person I could be when the 3rd game was announced, then before I saw it coming, february 2023, dlc WAVE 4 got announced, I got even more happy, yet the trailer confused me at first, I was still the most excited person ever, after finishing this dlc today, I was in tears, of sadness, happiness, and some fear. Knowing I have such a huge connection to this series, I had such a hard time believing it was over. but even still, until the next saga starts, I’m gonna keep replaying these games, and still not get tired of these spectacular games. Thank you so much Tetsuya Takahashi, for the greatest game series I will probably ever play. 💙❤️💛

Basically, Shulk and Rex will was the whole reason the Ourobors team were able to defeat Z and Moebius they were just giving the torch until the time was right.

Matthew and the Founders only stopped Alpha, and they created the foundation of the "new" city. Sure, their fight with Moebius lasted 1000 years, which led to the events of the main game.

Also N helping was ironic because this also the start to show the sign of the Noah we know, but he kept his delusion that as long he and M were happy as Moebius he didn't care if he was keeping killing the people of the city aka his descendant it only took his replica reincarnation aka NOAH and M death to realize he was wrong.

Shulk and Rex giving their their life to both Nikol and Glimmer so they can live on it is heartbreaking. It basically means that they both of them are their children or just descendant but they doesn't stop them acting as father or father figure to them. Especially Glimmer she need Rex as Parental figure for growth while Nikole need Shulk to determine his resolve.

Seeing this epic finale and the fight of Xenoblade series made me think of something of what I hope Phase II of the Kingdom Hearts series will lead of Sora and friends in the new universe of Unreality and Fiction and the journey it will have. The DLC is definitely more in-line with what I expected from the base game; it was a real treat to go through. It's still kinda held back by the story approach that they took in the base game though, and the timeline of everything is pretty confusing too, so that's unfortunate. They did expand on some things that left me hanging in 3 though; it was great to see Shulk and Rex and get a bit of a clearer picture on what happened to some people from the other two games. They and the rest of the Liberators being the only "real" people in Aionios while the rest of both worlds' people were assimilated into Origin is still kind of a hand-waive answer, but at least it's a bit more clear when taken into the context that Z simply allowed a small faction to join Aionios to help him defeat Alpha. It kinda retcons Z's identity as a concept since that's not really what a concept does, which is good for me since I didn't like his true identity but also kinda makes the base game reveal kinda obsolete. N got some MUCH needed character development; I didn't like him at all in the main game and thought his "redemption" was wholly unearned, but the DLC at least added some nuance to his actions. However, it also again kinda retcons his story a bit, since didn't Z force N to destroy the City so N could get M to join Moebius? Though I guess Z could've just used that as an excuse to kill two birds with one stone, getting N to join him while also getting rid of Alpha. The timeline of Aionios is... strange. In a weird way, I feel that the base game of Xenoblade 3 kinda holds back the more interesting story that the DLC could've told, especially with the last few chapters of 3 feeling so rushed.

The references to Klaus' world and Xenoblade X was also totally unexpected and incredible. I wonder if they'd add an orbital ring to X's intro to tie the games together if they ever do remake X. They could easily work it into the plot that the Saviorites, Ghosts, and Samaar Federation were all fighting each other, which caused Klaus to activate the Conduit and send the White Whale and alien forces to another dimension where Mira is. Klaus did say things vanished into different dimensions, and in X they say Earth was destroyed in a blast of light, like what happened when Klaus activated the experiment. Either way, the DLC made me much more excited for the series' future than the base game did, so I'm super looking forward to what comes next.

Just give me an X remake and X2, Monolith! I know you got something cooking; one of the superbosses in the DLC even uses X's tyrant naming scheme!!

As for the scene where the worlds fuse into one and we see the blue light, I have a feeling Monolith might be trying to vaguely connect Xenosaga to the main series, as this scene is similar to one in Episode 3. They might not be able to explicitly say it due to Bandai having the copyright for Xenosaga, but Takahashi might be trying to recontextualize Xenosaga to fit in with the canon of mainline and X canon afterwards. I can't imagine Bandai would let Takahashi take EVERYTHING from Xenosaga, so it might make more sense for him to do spiritual callbacks like with Dimitri's name and maybe even KOS-MOS if he's allowed and put them into a revamped storyline that's more in line with X and the main series. Just speculation on my part, though!

We get to have Rex's daughters with Nia and Pyra, though I wasn't much into Mio till the later part of the story due to shipping another pair, I definitely enjoyed Glimmer's interaction with Rex in this DLC.

What about his child with Mythra though? Are we gonna get a 4th installment for that? Also to see if 3rd's casts managed to reconnect afterwards.

It's sad the story of the base game still isn't close to be as good as the first game, but that DLC is definitely a good surprise. I always loved Alvis, so seeing him being the spotlight AND being genderbent is one of the best gift Monolith Soft could have gave to me.

I'm just glad that after 13 years we can finally let go of Klaus. Although I do wish to see more of the conduit, which I think is different from Klaus.

I beat the game earlier today, and now I'm here to watch the second half of the Level 50 Alpha fight because I basically skipped it. Matthew's and Rex's Unity Order in a Chain Attack is so strong that by the time they were done attacking, the Unity bonus and Smash bonus (since I launched him prior to starting it) did a combined total of about 2.5M damage, finishing him from about 35% health. (My characters were only level 53, btw.)

@Faz Faz If you're planning to do the endgame bosses here's a tip: use Fiona and Alexandria's chain orders along with every heroic chain that increases damage ratio and reactivations. If you do this right you can kill endgame bosses from like 70%hp without being over levelled

I just realized.. 52:29 when N thrusted his Sword of the End into the ground there was a green light. This scene looks awfully similar to when Noah rammed his Sword of the End into the ground in order to destroy Z's cinema, which created a purple-ish light. If Pneuma's green resembles hope and Logos' purple resembles despair.. it's as if Noah willingly accepts the future even if it brings despair and N willingly abandoning his despair for the probability of a better future.. in that moment he finds a glimmer of hope and believes in the Founders, the Lucky Seven. N and Noah obviously are two sides of the same coin and both of these scenes together can be understood as a visual metaphor for hope and despair canceling each other out. Yin and Yang.

I think it's really funny now that, at least in my opinion, the single best line from each game has come from one of the main villains: 1 had Egil's "Your blade, it did not cut deep enough" 2 had Amalthus' "Father, why do you not answer when I call?" and now 3 has N's "Drive it in! Sad that there's no epilogue scene connecting back to the base game's ending w Mio and Noah, but it is what it is. Definitely confused a bit at to everything going on w Alpha/Alvis/A and the other lore bits, but that'll get cleared up w time and the community analyzing it.

I wonder what the falling star/meteor at the end is supposed to imply? Not much to go off of, but I do hope it means going forward Xenoblade will still keep this continuity. The Klaus Arc and its characters and concepts may be over, but I'd still like to see the world and future they fought for, and have new adventures in it.

I'm not entirely sure if this is correct but based off my interpretation, I believe Alvis became Alpha when he reverted to acting like a machine without Logos & Pneuma being present for the Trinity Processor. As for A, I think she is an AI-fragment offshoot of what's left of Alvis that broke off from Alpha-Alvis that became self-aware from the memories of traveling with shulk & became something/someone new.

I meant more along the lines of a glimpse at base 3's ending as in something like: seeing Mio's side of the post credits scene, or a glimpse to the ppl of the world being happy, even if we don't see our main party. The merged world does still work beautifully in its own right tho. Especially now that I realize it's actually depicting the worlds passing THROUGH each other and then destroying and being remade merged together. Really lovely.

That blue light at the end arriving to Earth must be KOSMOS considering in Xenosaga 3 ending it is shown KOSMOS path through space is leading her to Earth. It was also mentioned that KOSMOS will be needed again eventually in the future of Xeno series for a unknown role. If this all a line right then KOSMOS arrives to Earth right after Xenoblade Chronicles 3.

Rex and Shulk aren’t from Aionios. Their worlds are frozen in time. At the end of XBC3 when Origin activates everything that happen in Aionios never happen and time reverts back to when before Aionios was created. The people of the City are erase from existence because they were created within Aionios.

@fafaaf61 no Aionios was created to keep time in a loop because the event that would have Rex and Shulk word combine would have destroyed both worlds that why Nia and Maleia had Origin created so that both their world can combine safely. There a cutscene in XBC3 that explains the origin of Aionios that Nia tells and what Aionios is.

Ignore the other commenter. I was talking about this and it's mentioned that in much the same way as A is for "Alvis," the Shulk and Rex we see are avatars of their respective consciousness within Origin. The real Rex and the real Shulk are cores inside of Origin, but they're manifested outside of Origin so as to ensure it's not interfered with. Thus, they don't age. They go back inside of Origin to administrate for A in the same way that Logos and Pneuma did for Ontos, because their job is done. They manifested to stop Alpha's plans, and they finished that task. Now they're placing trust in Matthew and the people of The City to stop Moebius and put the worlds to rights.

Apparently there is a dialog in the game where it is explained that not everybody got assimilated by Origin when the merge happened. Those who didn't get assimilated live in Aionios with longer lifespans and keep their memories of their past worlds.

Not sure if this is canon or not, but sure is interesting: In the new art of the XC3 music box you can see all the OG party members together in a bonfire while the blue shooting star is in the sky. So maybe that happened during the post credits scene.
