The song "People" by N.J. Whitey is a reflection on the universal desire for emotional connection and understanding. The opening lines suggest a fear of vulnerability and falling in love, while the chorus acknowledges the importance of music as a tool for emotional growth and connection. The vocalist acknowledges that sad songs, while potentially difficult to listen to, can offer a pathway to greater empathy and understanding.
The verses alternate between the persona of a tough-love romantic partner and a self-assured musician who has fought to achieve success. These different perspectives both touch upon the theme of personal strength and endurance in the face of adversity. The bridge of the song, which repeats the lines "People want to hear what they're feeling on the inside," hammers home the idea that human connection is essential to emotional wellbeing.

I can't handle falling down
I am not able to cope with failure or setbacks
Oh no, don't go
I am pleading with someone not to leave or give up on me
You say that sad songs get you down
You claim to become sad when you listen to songs that are melancholic
But you know, they make you grow
Despite knowing that they can cause sadness, they can also contribute to personal growth
And if you give that song a chance
By giving this song an opportunity to resonate with you emotionally
You might just give us a chance and
You may also consider giving our music a chance as well
If there is someone who will stand up
If there is a person of strength or conviction
And tell me that love has a reason
And express to me that love is rational or logical

I'm hardcore love
I am a lover who is intense, passionate, and committed
You knock me down with your misery
Your sadness and struggles can affect me deeply as well
And I make love to your angry soul
I am able to find intimacy and connection with you even in moments of anger or frustration
As the coach comes around the bench
As a moment of opportunity or momentum arises
I am small but I'm feeling tall
I may not be physically imposing, but I feel confident and empowered
Took two years to get a hit
It took a significant amount of time and effort to achieve a successful outcome
But now I'm smokin' every day
Now, I am experiencing a high degree of success and fulfillment on a consistent basis

This music and video are so incredibly good it is genuinely terrifying that it only has 30,000 views. What hope do any of us have if a masterpiece like this can just fly right under the radar. You are THE most expressive and unique artist I have ever seen. Your music is timeless and I hope more people find it soon, I think many of us desperately need it right now. Thank you for every piece of work you put out, I have yet to find something I didn't find mind-blowing and inspirational, please don't stop.

Yeah, that rarely happens these days, algorithms like Spotify and Dezzer count that a song has been played after the 30 seconds mark, so every pop song drops everything in that time
