One Time
N.Y. CONFIDENTIAL Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴

One more time君に触れたくて

Overall Meaning

These lyrics are from the song "One Time" by N.Y. CONFIDENTIAL. The lyrics speak about a past love and the lingering memories and emotions associated with it. The song reflects on the bittersweet nature of the end of a relationship and the longing to hold on to the memories and feelings associated with it.

The opening lines describe the moon floating on the water's surface and the wind gently brushing against the cheeks. There is a sense of realization in the prolonged silence, and the answer to something becomes clear. However, reaching out for it is futile, as it can no longer reach the person they desire. The singer remembers the moment when they smiled in response to the person they said they would meet again, realizing that such a simple decision and tears aren't easy.

The lyrics go on to express how love begins and ends, and the numerous emotions, joys, and memories associated with it. The singer recalls thinking of the person while closing their eyes and feeling their presence. They believe that their meeting amidst billions of people is a miracle, but they succumb to the mischief of fate and put a period to their love. The lyrics reflect on the memories and emotions that remain, as symbolized by the missed call notification on the singer's mobile phone. The song emphasizes the power of simple words and actions, urging the listener not to forget the beautiful memories and to find strength in embracing the truth.

Why can't they make movies like this today? In the first few moments, New York Confidential grabs you by the throat and doesn't let go. Richard Conte is brilliant as the stone cold, high functioning, psychopathic hitman.

Broderick Crawford nails it as a family man, with a big heart, who happens to be a mob boss. Great supporting cast and director. To say that the Godfather borrowed heavily from this movie is an understatement.

I can't believe that I missed seeing this movie in the theater when it came out. I was only 3 years old at the time, but that's no excuse.

Hi Sideshow 🍕 thanks for your detailed commentary 🍕 may the sauce be with you 🍕🍕🍕

aspenrebel

Yeah that's no excuse. You should've been out there on date night going to the movies.

Treat Monster

@PizzaFlix Thanks PizzaFlix. I hope to watch more great movies on your channel and to write some more reviews.

Brian McCarthy

Of course Conte played Barzini in "The Godfather". Roles like this made that believable.

@Brian McCarthy I never really synced up with the Godfather. It was over my pay grade. It reminded me of the Royal families with the palace intrigue. Too many moving parts to keep track of. Obviously the problem is me and not the movie, which was a classic.

You can't go wrong with Broderick Crawford and Richard Conte together!

The casting and the acting was brilliant. My accolades are about the script. With a few actors the movie's story line was clean, clear cut, and totally believable, how a syndicate gets engulfed in trouble. Trouble started slowly, almost unnoticed, with the government and the foreign investors... it snowballed from there, to the culmination. And it wasn't done with fanfares, with melodrama. It was all very realistic, real to the viewer. The pacing of the story: impeccable. Not one moment did I have to say "no, this couldn't have been that way." Smart writer(s), kudos to them. And sorry, I haven't finished. The character development was brilliant, too... the dizzy blondes, and the all-too-smart but overprotected daughter whose tragedy she could not avoid although she was protesting it with hands, feet and teeth. (So to speak). Her last scene she showed incredibly accurate displays of schizoaffective disorder. Even the play of her eyes were down pat.

Brilliant, brilliant movie.

We need to get the Film Noir genre back. This movie is among the best. And I'll never get tired of watching Ann Bancroft, I dare to add.

Zach Bos

Enjoying it with a pinot noir!
