I've always found the Nadia-Vonzell trajectory to be interesting. Vonzell was extremely overlooked for the first few weeks. I remember watching and I couldn't remember anything she had done. Nadia was killing it. And then this week, Nadia failed miserably and Vonzell sang Best Of My Love which was amazing and memorable. And from then on, Nadia kept struggling and Vonzell kept getting stronger and stronger.

I used to love some “Best of my Love” by Vonzell- I had it burned on a cd. I think I downloaded the bootleg tv audio off Napster or lime wire. That’s song and Kris Allen: Man in the Mirror.

I… don’t think Nadia bombed this week… this was great

Nadia is one of the strongest vocalists who has ever been on AI. She didn't fail miserably, it's just that she made song choices that were so offbeat that she didn't know how to connect with the audience, but certain people. I thought this performance was awesome but I also understand how weird it was and how it got her into the bottom 3. Nadia's top 8 performance sucked though I can't defend her on that.
Vonzell wasn't as interesting vocally but she really managed to push herself to the limit, also I know during the season Bo was the one who got praise for all of his song choices and his performance style but I feel like as the years passed people remember Vonzell more fondly than Bo.

I think a similar case was in Season 10. Pia and Haley were two vocal powerhouses, and I'm not saying Pia deserved to go home (she should've been top 5 at least!) but in the first few weeks Haley was completely unmemorable. Then Pia's tendency to keep choosing dated ballads /might/ have been what sent her home while Haley made more interesting choices which took her all the way to top 3.

@W PBN Nadia was similar to Lil Rounds. Both had phenomenal voices but really struggled with song choice. Although Nadia's song choices were still MILES better than Lil always managing to outdo herself each week with how awful her song choices were

I love this arrangement a lot

She was my favorite that season. Now in March 22 her daughter Za is auditioning!

She should have done a slowed down version of the song and she could’ve had a moment.

I like her style, but the original slow version would've done her more justice.
