Nailbomb hosted other musicians to play guest spots, including D.H. Peligro (Dead Kennedys), Max Cavalera's brother Igor Cavalera (Sepultura co-founder), and Mexican guitarist Dino Cazares (co-founder and guitarist of Fear Factory, Brujeria and Divine Heresy).
Nailbomb's second album, Proud to Commit Commercial Suicide, was a live recording capturing the band's appearance at the 1995 Dynamo Open Air Festival in Eindhoven, Netherlands.
NAILBOMB were a shooting star. Between 1993 and 1995 they released one studio effort, 1994's "Point Blank", and had a warm-up gig the evening before their acclaimed European festival appearance, which was documented as the live album "Proud To Commit Commercial Suicide" (1995). NAILBOMB weren't meant to last, but they sure as hell have made their mark. Nearly 30 years later, the two albums are being re-released and packaged together as "1000% Hate", the title that the band initially had in mind for "Point Blank".
24 Hour Bullshit
Nailbomb Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
No ones to blame but yourself
I want to but everything you've got
No hope now for the T.V. junk
24 hour bullshit
I want out don't want your help
Fall in line now follow suit
It's my god and my religion
Beer, gun, car, and T.V.
That's all I need
I want to buy everything you've got
I could care less
The lyrics of 24 Hour Bullshit by Nailbomb touch on the idea of being trapped in a cycle of consumerism and media saturation. The first verse suggests a feeling of hopelessness and resignation that comes with being constantly bombarded by advertisements and news, represented by the "screens" that the singer is referring to. The line "no one's to blame but yourself" implies that individuals are responsible for their own consumption patterns and cannot place the blame on external factors. The chorus, "24 hour bullshit," suggests that this pattern of consumption and media saturation has become ubiquitous and inescapable, something that is being force-fed to individuals.
The second verse delves deeper into this idea of being trapped, with the singer emphasizing their desire to distance themselves from the cycle of consumerism, despite being surrounded by others who have fallen in line. The lyrics "it's my god and my religion" describe the power that consumerism and media have over individuals, almost like a form of indoctrination. The final lines of the song, "beer, gun, car, and T.V. / That's all I need / I want to buy everything you've got / I could care less" highlight the irony of the situation, with the singer rejecting the idea of consumerism and media saturation, but still feeling drawn towards it, almost as if they have no other options to turn to.
Overall, the lyrics of 24 Hour Bullshit by Nailbomb offer a commentary on the nature of consumerism and media saturation in modern society. The song highlights the inescapability of this cycle and the pressure to conform, while also emphasizing the individual responsibility to resist it.
