Ulrik Bust: Saxofonist. Har spillet med en lang række forskellige bands, deriblandt C. Abbew, Rock Nalle, Booze Brothers, ViUngeLive og Past to Present. Producerer projekter for andre og skriver musik - bl.a. filmmusik. Er i øjeblikket under uddannelse på Rytmisk Konservatorium.
Karl-Erik Pedersen: Sanger, sangskriver og guitarist. Hans sange er blevet spillet og indspillet af en lang række kunstnere, bl.a. Björn Afzelius, Nikolaj og Piloterne, Tears For Jeanie, FishJoint, Yellow Moon og Rikke Mach. Skriver desuden musik til film.
Jakob Ottesen: Bassist. Har spillet med Yellow Moon, Tears For Jeanie og The Sharks. Arbejder også som tekstforfatter.
Michael Friis: Trommeslager og percussionist. Har blandt mange andre spillet med Johnny Madsen Band, The Bushpilots, Poul Krebs, Allan Olsen og Ester Brohus.
Historie
Naked Fish har eksisteret i to år, og udspringer af, at det lykkedes for Ulrik og Karl-Erik at få Jakob og Michael med som rytmegruppe på en turné til 7 byer. Ulrik og Karl-Erik havde på det tidspunkt spillet masser af duojobs, og ideen opstod med at teame op med Jakob og Michael, fordi de to netop har masser af liveoptrædener bag sig, og ikke mindst fordi deres spillestil passede perfekt til den fortrinsvist akustiske musik Ulrik og Karl-Erik arbejdede med.
Turen gik så godt at de fire besluttede sig for at arbejde videre som kvartet, og allerede kort tid efter begyndte de at indspille. Det meste af et år gik med at indspille sange og eksperimentere med sounden. De første indspilninger tog direkte udgangspunkt i liveudgaverne og var derfor dogmeagtige og simple i lydbilledet, men tingene udviklede sig efterhånden.
Naked Fish
En af vennerne, den amerikanske sangskriver Matt Gross, spillede sammen med Michael i The Bushpilots, og de to havde talt med Karl-Erik om at lave en lille trio, hvor de udelukkende skulle spille akustiske udgaver af deres sange. Trioen skulle hedde Naked Fish, men det blev aldrig til noget: Matt blev brutalt skudt ned på toppen af Empire State Building i New York. Alle var naturligvis meget påvirkede af det, og Jakob og Karl-Erik skrev sammen en sang om den lynhurtige drejning livet kan tage. Ideen om at bruge navnet Naked Fish i denne nye sammenhæng var ikke langt væk. Og sangen 'Wonder why' er da også at finde på Naked Fish's kommende CD.

Musikken
Musikken tager sit udgangspunkt mange steder. Der er fransk rap og argentinsk tangoharmonika. Der er amerikansk slideguitar og afrikansk djembe. Cubansk congas og jamaicansk reggae. Der er elementer af mange stilarter - rock, pop, reggae, cajunfeeling og lyden af det fjerne østen - så musikken er meget sammensat, hvilket valget af instrumenter også antyder. Der er fortrinsvist tale om akustisk musik, men at der også er brugt sampler, computer og elektriske instrumenter er med til at understrege bredden i lydbilledet. Måske er det et udtryk for en musikalsk søgen. En søgen, der også går igen i flere af sangteksterne. Ud af alle de forskellige elementer vokser Naked Fish's helt egen stil.
