She started off in L.A., moved to France at the age of ten, spent a few years in Belgium and then scurried on back to California to pursue an education in art and French literature.
She makes music as often as possible, to keep herself sane and happy. She dabbles around with piano, guitar and bass (her favorite instrument), but does not consider herself an expert at any of them. Mostly she enjoys singing and inventing odd harmonies.
She entered the YouTube music movement thanks to her boyfriend, Jack Conte, and together they have started a collaboration called Pomplamoose. Their music can be heard at either their official Myspace or official YouTube. Nataly is still in denial about wanting to be a full-time musician, but deep down inside she knows that there is nothing that makes her happier than making art and sharing it with lovely listeners such as yourself.
In addition to her music being available in CD form, songs can be downloaded from her official Myspace myspace.com/natalydawn and videos (and occasionally Vlogs) can be found on her official YouTube page youtube.com/NatalyDawn.
The Garden
Nataly Dawn Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
You were born
In the garden
And they left you there
Who would’ve known
There you grew up
With your pet snake
Your garden rake
Leading you on
One rainy day
In the garden
You came upon
A tree cut down
What’s this all about?
He shook his head
And said
Oh that’s just a thing I tried
A while ago
A while ago
A long long time ago.
Well, I wasn’t born
In the garden
No I was taught
To work for love
And have a Plan B
But one day I met
Eve’s daughter
I swear I wasn’t
Even high
And she invited me
Just at the edge
Of the garden
I stopped because
Maybe I should be somewhere else
She smiled I know
That this story means
A lot to you
I think that you
Should let it go
Should let it go
It was a long long time ago
The lyrics of Nataly Dawn's song "The Garden" tell the story of Eve's daughter, who was left in the garden and grew up with her pet snake and garden rake, guided by the hand of God. One rainy day, she discovers a tree cut down in the garden and questions its significance. The voice in the song explains that it was merely a failed attempt from a long time ago.
The second part of the lyrics shifts the focus to the singer, who wasn't born in the garden but was taught to work for love and have a backup plan. Then, one day, they meet Eve's daughter and are unexpectedly drawn to her. Standing at the edge of the garden, the singer begins to question if they should be somewhere else. However, Eve's daughter reassures them that it's important to let go of the past, as it was a long time ago.
