From the 1960s to the 1980s, Diamond was one of the more successful pop music performers, scoring a number of hits. As critic William Ruhlmann writes, "as of 2001, he claimed worldwide record sales of 115 million copies, and as of 2002 he was ranked third, behind only Elton John and Barbra Streisand, on the list of the most successful adult contemporary artists in the history of the Billboard chart."[1] As of May 2005 he has sold 120 million records worldwide, including 48 million records in the U.S.[2]
Though his record sales declined somewhat after the 1980s, Diamond continues to tour successfully, and maintains a very loyal following. Diamond's songs have been recorded by a vast array of performers from many different musical genres.
Diamond was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1984, and then in 2000 was given its Sammy Cahn Lifetime Achievement Award. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in the early part of 2011.
In 2008 Neil Diamond scored his first ever Billboard number one album with "Home Before Dark", the album also became his first studio album to get to number one in the UK.

Neil Diamond Lyrics

That's all I do
And if you saw my love
You'd love her to
And I love her
She gave my everything
And tenderly
The kiss my lover brings
And I love her
A love like ours
Could never die
As long as I
Have you near me
Bright is the stars that shine
Dark is the sky
I know this love of mine
Will never die
And I love her
I love her
I love her
And I love her
Neil Diamond's song And I Love Her is a classic love song that captures the depth and intensity of the singer's emotions towards his partner. The song begins with the line, "I give her all my love, that's all I do," which conveys the singer's devotion towards the person he loves. This is followed by the line, "And if you saw my love, you'd love her too," which suggests that the singer's partner is so special and wonderful that anyone who met her would instantly fall in love with her.
The chorus of the song repeats the line, "And I love her," which serves as a powerful reminder of the singer's unwavering passion for his partner. The second verse of the song describes how the singer's partner has given him everything, and how her tender love and affection mean everything to him. The line, "A love like ours could never die," speaks to the depth and intensity of the bond between the singer and his partner, suggesting that their love will endure forever.
The final verse of the song reflects on the beauty and power of love, as seen in the lines, "Bright is the stars that shine, dark is the sky. I know this love of mine will never die." The song ends with a simple repetition of the phrase "And I love her," which encapsulates the heart of the singer's message.
