Sedaka wrote his 1959 hit "Oh! Carol" about his then-girlfriend, Carol Klein, later to become Carole King. In 1963, King released a humorous answer entitled "Oh Neil".
The Laughter In the Rain Songfacts says Sedaka's hits dried up when The Beatles arrived, but then he teamed up with the lyricist Philip Cody and had a a number 1 hit with "Laughter In The Rain." It re-ignited Sedaka's career and he had 6 more Top-40 hits in America by 1977.
Sedaka's voice is in the tenor range.
In The Chapel With You
Neil Sedaka Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
When will chapel bells tell me you love me?
Once you were mine but my love wasn′t true.
I made you cry so you found someone new.
You hold his hand and you tell me we're through,
He was to stand in the chapel with you.
What side was strong but I′ve lost all my pride.
I'm bended knee, now I'm begging to you:
Let it be me in the chapel with you!
I hear chapel bells ringing above me,
When will chapel bells tell me you love me?
I′m bended knee, now I′m begging to you,
Let it be me in the chapel with you!
Maybe someday if I pray all the while
I'll hear you say we can walk down the aisle:
A Lord above knows I′d whisper I do
Pledging my love in the chapel with you!
I hear chapel bells ringing above me
Now the chapel bells tell me you love me
I hear chapel bells ringing above me
Now the chapel bells tell me you love me
I hear chapel bells ringing above me
Now the chapel bells tell me you love me
The song In The Chapel With You by Neil Sedaka portrays the pain and regret of losing one's true love. The lyrics speak of the regretful past relationship where the singer did not cherish the love they had, leading the love to drift away to someone new. The chapel bells still ring above them, echoing the pain and sadness felt as the singer begs for another chance to prove their love. The chorus reflects the longing and hopefulness of the singer as they hope to marry the one they love in the chapel.
The lyrics describe the singer's remorse in not holding onto their loved one and their longing to have another chance. Although time has passed and she has chosen someone else, he still hopes and prays to have her back. His desperation shows as he begs to be with her in the chapel, which symbolizes not only their reunion but also their marriage. The repetition of the chapel bells ringing conveys both the weight of loss and hope of reconciliation that surrounds the singer.
In conclusion, Neil Sedaka's In The Chapel With You is an ode to those who let their true love slip through their fingers. The lyrics emphasize the depth of regret and the desperate desire to mend a broken heart. The chapel in the song is not only a place of worship but also a symbol of a future together with the one they love.

Wow..superb..
@mcarlus

@mcarlus
@mcarlus
