All Good Things Come to an End
Nelly Furtado and Chris Martin Lyrics

Ah, ah, ah

Honestly, what will become of me?
Don't like reality
It's way too clear to me
But, really, life is dandy
We are what we don't see
We miss everything daydreaming

Flames to dust
Lovers to friends
Why do all good things come to an end?
Flames to dust
Lovers to friends
Why do all good things come to an end?
Come to an end, come to an...
Why do all good things come to an end?
Come to an end, come to an...
Why do all good things come to an end?

Traveling, I only stop at exits
Wondering if I'll stay (stay)
Young and restless
Living this way, I stress less
I want to pull away when the dream dies
The pain sets in, and I don't cry
I only feel gravity, and I wonder why

Flames to dust (dust)
Lovers to friends (friends)
Why do all good things come to an end (end)?
Flames to dust (dust)
Lovers to friends (friends)
Why do all good things come to an end?
Come to an end, come to an
Why do all good things come to an
Come to an end, come to an
Why do all good things come to an end?

The dogs were whistling a new tune
Barking at the new moon
Hoping it would come soon so that they could
Dogs were whistling a new tune
Barking at the new moon
Hoping it would come soon so that they could
Die, die, die, die

Flames to dust (dust)
Lovers to friends (friends)
Why do all good things come to an end?
Flames to dust
Lovers to friends
Why do all good things come to an end?
Come to an end, come to an (end)
Why do all good things come to an (end)?
Come to an end (end), come to an (end)
Why do all good things come to an

Well, the dogs were barking at the new moon
Whistling a new tune
Hoping it would come soon
And the sun was wondering if it should
Stay away for a day
Till the feeling went away
And the sky was falling
And the clouds were dropping
And the rain forgot how to bring salvation
The dogs were barking at the new moon
Whistling a new tune

Hoping it would come soon
So that they could die

Overall Meaning

The song "All Good Things" by Nelly Furtado and Rea Garvey is about coming to terms with the end of a relationship, and the difficulty of accepting change. The song starts with Nelly singing about her struggle with reality, saying that it's much easier to daydream than to face the truth. She then goes on to talk about the pain of losing someone; how two people who were once in love can end up as just friends, and why all good things come to an end. We see her struggling with the idea of moving on, wanting to hold onto the past despite knowing that it's time to let go. She ends the song by talking about the inevitability of change; how even the sky can fall and the rain can forget how to bring salvation. Ultimately, the message of the song is about accepting the difficult changes in our lives, and moving forward even if it means leaving the comforts of the past behind.

Again in 2020, as we head into a new future we didn't expect...

Well the dogs were
barking at the new moon
whistling a new tune
hoping it would come soon.

And the sun was
wondering if it should
stay away for a day
until the feeling went away

And the sky was
falling and the clouds were
dropping and the rainfall
forgot how to bring salvaation

Patiently the dogs were barking at the moon
whistling a new tune
hoping it would come soon
so that they could die...

ciaö, Bella!

And the sun was
Wonderin if it should
Stay away for a day
Til the feeling went away
And the sky was
Falling and the clouds were
Droppin and the rain for-
..got how to bring sal-
..vation the dogs were
Barkin at the new moon
Whistlin a new tune
Hopin it would come
So that they could die...

Too bad they never made a video for this song. This is my favorite song by Nelly Furtado and I absolutely love Chris Martin/Coldplay 😍

Aníbal Molina Carreño

Chris Martin's voice suits so much in the track. It's a pity Coldplay's label demanded his voice to be removed because they considered Martin's voice is too rock to be in a pop song.

sinuskurve Pitch124

I don't think it was about the genre either. A label would sell anything if it brings money. And, look at them now, still signed with this label and they are far away from being a rock band and keep on producing basic pop songs :(

Jordan Smith

The labels just disagreed on rights and that in the end, i dont think they were to bothered about what genre it was

Bruno Fernandez

And know they make pretty much pop music, the irony

Angus Drummond-Smith

do you have a source for this information? I'm quite interested to read about it
