After a few changes in the line-up during the initial years, the band started to gain ground within Dhaka's local music scene with their fluent performances, as it settled on to a permanent line-up with Zohad on vocals, Maher and Nondito on guitars, Ratul on bass and Yawar on drums. This earned them a spot in a 'mixed album' compilation tagged 'Agontuk-2' in 2003. Debuting with their first single 'Obocheton', Nemesis became an instant favorite among Dhaka's listeners which, in turn, led to a record deal with G-Series.
During the recording of the album, their drummer Yawar had to leave and was replaced by Dio who worked on the rest of the album and their guitarist Nondito left soon after to be replaced by Omayr in 2005. Nemesis’ debut album ‘Onneshon’ was finally released in 2005 under the label of G-Series, and it went on to become one of the major albums of that year. The album instantly stood out and generated a lot of attention with several of the songs proving to be major hits with the audience. With the release of 'Dhushor Bhabona' (2006) and 'Joyoddhoni' (2007), Nemesis earned mainstream recognition as both the singles went on to be included in the capital’s most popular FM station Radio Foorti’s Top 100 Singles Charts.
The band recorded their second album ‘Tritio Jatra’, six years later being released in 2011 under the label of Dead Line Music (DLM) sponsored by Cat’s Eye. The first single from the album ‘Kobe’ was released in Radio stations earlier in the 2011. In late 2011, they released the music video of their hit song ‘Kobe’ which was produced by Studio Bangi.
In 2012, Maher Khan and Omayr Khan left Nemesis and were later in the same year replaced by Zerif Ahmed and Zeheen Ahmed. In early 2013, Zeheen took a break from the band and was replaced by Zafir which is the present permanent line up of the band.
‘Tritio Jatra’ got nominated for The Best Band Award of 2011 (Popular Choice and Critic), The Best Sounding Album Award and Best Music Video Award (‘Kobe’, Studio Bangi) for the Citycell Channel I Music Awards where Nemesis won The Critic’s Choice - Best Band Award.
There lineup took one final change as Zerif left the band and Rafsan joined the band. The band released their third and most recent album on 10th May ,2017 after 6 years. The album received positive review from all the fans. With this album they settled with their sound that is now they are more blues rock than alternative and all the band members were happy with the album. The ten songs on the album mark a departure from their older songs in the way that all the songs have a particular and serious meaning behind them. The album can be streamed in iTunes and Spotify.

Nemesis Lyrics

Promise me that I will see him again
Alive like before
Now will every minute cause me pain?
Will my sin forever burn like the sun's flame
Poison all my veins, curse me till I'm lame
Make all my hope wane?!
This must end somehow
I've suffered for my crime
Trust me, I sure tried
But I can't stand it here now
Wipe away this damned curse!
Perhaps it's best that I'm still afraid
My heart cries out for hope, still my life is pain
Cos nothing now remains, no one knows my name
The Land of Light awaits far away...
I climbed the tower above all the clouds
Where we once daydreamed, n' your memory prowls
Don't need no daydreams, they're worthless now
The dreaded winds howl n' blow me off the tower.
* * *
Perhaps it's best here in the arms of fate
Her heart cried out for hope, still her life was pain
Cos nothing more remained, no one knew her name
The Land of Light called and she soared away
Her body hit the ground n' lives no more
Her soul was filled with awe:
A leaf before the fall
Cos this tower ain't so high
This here's the tree of life
Reality's a great deceptive lie...
The lyrics of Nemesis's song "Eternity" depict a sense of longing, desperation, and struggle with destiny. The singer is pleading for confirmation that their current reality is just a dream and that they will have the chance to see someone they miss dearly again. They question whether every passing minute will bring them pain and if their past mistakes will haunt them forever. The lyrics reflect their desire to be released from the torment and the curse they feel they are living under. They yearn for an end to their suffering and hope for a chance at redemption.
The singer then contemplates whether it is better to remain in fear, as it keeps their heart hopeful amidst the pain. Their life is portrayed as a constant struggle, where everything they held dear has vanished, leaving them feeling lost and unnoticed. The Land of Light is mentioned as a distant place filled with hope, offering solace from their current state of despair. The lyrics also describe the singer's ascent to a tower above the clouds, a place where they used to daydream and keep memories alive. However, even this escape seems futile as the winds of fate blow them off the tower, emphasizing their powerlessness and the ever-present harsh reality.
In the final part of the lyrics, a shift in perspective occurs. The song transitions to a third-person narrative, possibly referring to someone else who succumbs to fate. They too long for hope amidst pain, lamenting the loss of everything they once had. The Land of Light beckons them, and they soar away, leaving their earthly existence behind. The lyrics conclude with the impact of their fall, after which their soul is filled with awe, symbolizing a realization of the true nature of life and how ephemeral it can be. The singer reflects on the tower, symbolizing the Tree of Life, and suggests that reality is a deceptive illusion.
