Overall Meaning

The lyrics to Nero's song "Innocence" are short and repetitive, but they convey a powerful message about unrequited love and the frustration and sadness that can come along with it. The phrase "You'll never be mine" is repeated throughout the song, with the addition of the word "innocence" each time. The repetition of this phrase underscores the singer's feelings of hopelessness and resignation as they come to terms with the fact that the person they desire will never feel the same way.

The chorus of "Innocence" is also notable for the way the singer's voice rises and falls, conveying a sense of emotional intensity and vulnerability. The addition of the "be mine" refrain at the end of the song adds another layer of complexity to the lyrics, suggesting that even though the singer knows their love will never be returned, they still crave some kind of connection with the object of their affection.

Overall, "Innocence" is a poignant and relatable song that captures the bittersweet feelings of unrequited love. The simple lyrics, combined with the haunting melody and powerful vocals, make for a memorable track that is sure to resonate with anyone who has ever experienced the pain of loving someone who cannot love them back.

That drop back in the day... back when dubstep still surprised people. The energy.... that filthy wub before it was all played out... I wonder if we'll ever have something like that again.

@toxicmoldmedia

it still does surprise people but sound engineering of today would make it sound soo good. They had the same generic waves and synths to use back then, and they used them well. If ONLY, they had better engineering to lift the edges a bit it would still be legit.

The thing that bothers me most about dubstep in 2022 is just how hyper-complex it’s become. Instead of coming up with the best music possible, it’s become an emphasis on how insane you can make the drop and inject complexity into it. The dubstep in the 2009-2010 era didn’t have any of this gaudy flare, and it still hit hard. Not that it’s all bad, but it just seems like a giant jerk-off contest of late. I’m trying to go against that grain.
