Titanic
New End Original Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Two easy over
A greasy spoon
"Flies shit wherever they land"
I overheard that
I made a smile
We eat whatever we can

could you see beauty in long simple faces?
Weighted down, waving while they're drowing
Waving while they're drowing, waving while they're drowing

"Congratulations you won the world"
What would you do with it then?
Would you decorate it, surrender or burn it and start it again?

Could you see beauty in long simple faces?
Weighted down, waving while they're drowning
Could you find beauty in sun?
Shining over, raining down, waving while they're drowning.
Waving while they're drowning. Waving while they're drowning. Drowning.

Waving while they're drowning. Waving while they're drowning.
Drowning (3x)

Congratuations, you won the world.

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to New End Original's song Titanic delve into the themes of beauty, loss, and confusion. The first verse talks about the mundane nature of life and the way we accept what is given to us, even if it's not always pleasant or ideal. The line about "flies shit wherever they land" is a metaphor for how life can be dirty and unpredictable, and we have to learn to deal with it. The chorus then asks a question about our ability to see beauty in adversity. The long, simple faces may not be conventionally pretty, but can we still find something lovely in them, especially when they are weighted down and waving while drowning? The idea of finding beauty in such suffering is powerful and poignant.

The second verse starts with the sarcastic congratulations for winning the world. It questions what we would actually do with all that power and privilege. Would we use it to make the world a more beautiful place, or would we destroy it and start again? The song is full of uncertainty and introspection, and doesn't offer easy answers. The repetition of the line "waving while they're drowning" underscores the tragedy and futility of human existence, and the way we often struggle through adversity without ever fully overcoming it.

I thought it meant her heart belongs to the sea, with her lost love.

Kaylin Kinnison

Thank you! That's what I thought too! I thought it made for an even more romantic ending ❤️

Edward Wood

In the context of all those lost lives compared to how long she knew the guy, nothing selfish about that. She acts consistant.

Chris Karley

It was even called " the heart of the ocean" !!💎

@Edward Wood lol

Trent Timoy

You're absolutely right. Some of us thought that as well.

Rose's heart was with Jack even after all those years,

Giving her last goodbye, giving back 'the heart of the ocean'

If Jack lived, they got married, lived a couple of years together, started losing passion and got divorced like all other ppl... kind of puts all these romance movies in perspective 😅

Ya it's absolutely pathetic if you think about it. She was married and cheated on her husband with some guy on the titanic and even after she survived and remarried she still had feelings for this guy she knew for a week in her 20s? 😂 Then she allows this group of people invest MILLIONS of dollars looking for the diamond while knowing she had it the whole time?! Then she throws it in the oceans? Selfish and insane.
