Executioner
Nicole Dollanger Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

baby, you have to pay in this way or another
in this life or the next
for as long as we've known each other
you've been playing this game with death

one day you will be tried
on the execution line
he'll strap you in & you will fry
like fireworks on the 4th of July

baby, you have to pay in this way or another
whether you can cry or not
oh, how sad to face the judgement
unprepared to meet your god

he will wear a rubber coat
shoot lightning through the vital veins
they think that you emit the light
but you only take it in

the man in uniform will come
and he will stick it in the arm
you'll scream out for your father
and in darkness i pray you

never find him again
(everybody fries in texas)

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Nicole Dollanger's song "Executioner" revolve around the idea of facing death and retribution for one's actions. The song starts with the singer warning the subject of the song that they will have to pay for their actions, either in this life or in the next. The subject of the song is someone who has been playing a dangerous game with death for a long time, but the singer warns them that one day they will be caught and tried on the execution line.

The second part of the song describes the scene of the execution, where the executioner will strap the subject in and they will fry like fireworks on the 4th of July. The singer emphasizes that everyone has to pay, regardless of whether they can cry or not. The judgment day is coming, and the subject of the song is unprepared to meet their god. The executioner will wear a rubber coat and shoot lightning through the subject's vital veins. The subject may emit light, but they only take it in, and the consequences of their actions have caught up with them.

The final lines of the song, "everybody fries in Texas," add a sense of finality to the song. The state of Texas has a reputation for being tough on crime and imposing the death penalty, so the idea of everyone frying emphasizes the inevitability of facing consequences for one's actions.

As someone who's currently trying to work through the trauma I've only realized recently that happened when I was young, I love her music. Unless you've been abused, you don't know what it's like to truly hate someone to your very core.

sj

Sorry about that I hope you get help and support and feel the courage to speak about your experiences xx

Lawrix

Quite honestly, I've been abused by a number of others. Either emotionally or not so. But i find a way to.. understand them. Not forgive them, like hell is that bullshit in the bible going to work, but understand their mindset. It eases the pain.

Nando

Break free. I hope the toxic mindset of right or wrong will. But stay brave and courageous set boundaries for this place is feral. As what is „Beautiful people want to break”

Perish

I hate someone down to my core, I won’t be satisfied until they pay for the years of ab*se they put me through. I hate them so much, but for some reason I miss them? All I can down is cry when I see them

Such an angry, vindictive song about an awful person. Needless to say I didn't know what it was about, and the comments section well near stopped my heart with shock. How could anybody see this as a love song? In every verse she wishes death and pain upon someone who rightfully deserves it.

who is it about?

In my opinion, if you and everyone would listen to the whole album from start to end, sounds like to me that she was abducted and brought to the South and rapped in Not only Texas but Louisiana as well. Alligator Blood is another reason I feel as I do.
Angels of Porn II is my favorite. But her Cover of Christian Woman is how I found Nicole.
Definitely impressive and one of my favorite musicians in my life.

Kieren Richardson

she is not romanticizing serial killers, it tells it from her perspective in the last verse : The man in uniform will come
And he will stick it in the arm
You’ll scream out for your father
And in darkness I pray you will
Never find him again
