Love Letter

Misunderstood, cause all my friends say you're dishonest
You had me questioning what I was worth
Yeah you know and I know, no
Say what you want
But I know that's only
Words that you use
Myself and I
Yeah we're done with your sorrys
Get out my face
It's safe to say
When I was your girlfriend
You said it be different
You wanted all the girls
Then you wanted commitment
But you couldn't get it to to to-gether
I'm sending you this love, love, love-letter
Oh I was your girlfriend
I thought you were different
I tried to make it work
Gave a million chances
But I know I can do, do, do, better
I'm sending you this love, love, love letter
You'd sit at home, tokin on that marijuana
I'd pick up your clothes, like you forgot I'm not your mother
Yeah you were getting way too comfortable
Yeah you know and I know, no
Say what you want
But I know that's only
Words that you use
To anyone, anybody
Myself and I
Yeah we're done with your sorrys
You'll be replaced
It's safe to say
When I was your girlfriend
You said it be different
You wanted all the girls
Then you wanted commitment
But you couldn't get it to, to, to-gether
I'm sending you this love, love, love-letter
Oh I was your girlfriend
I thought you were different
I tried to make it work
Gave a million chances
But I know I can do, do, do better
I'm sending you this love, love, love letter
Ooh, ooh, ooh
Ooh, ooh, ooh
Ooh, ooh, ooh
Ooh, ooh, ooh
Sending you this love, love, love letter
Ooh, ooh, ooh
By the time you get it I'll be out on the road
Cause I've packed up all my things put your name on a note
Yeah you thought you were clever but you didn't know
That my heart left about 2 months ago
By the time you get it I'll be out on the road
Cause I've packed up all my things put your name on a note
(Packed up my things)
Yeah you thought you were clever but you didn't know
That my heart left about 2 months ago
When I was your girlfriend
You said it be different
You wanted all the girls
Then you wanted commitment
But you couldn't get it to, to, to-gether
I'm sending you this love, love, love-letter
Oh I was your girlfriend
I thought you were different
I tried to make it work
Gave a million chances
But I know I can do, do, do better
I'm sending you this love, love, love letter
Ooh, ooh, ooh
Ooh, ooh, ooh
Sending you this love, love, love letter
Ooh, ooh, ooh
Ooh, ooh, ooh
Sending you this love, love, love letter
The song "Love Letter" by Nina Nesbitt delves into a relationship that started off well but turned sour. The lyrics express the singer's feelings of betrayal and frustration towards her former lover, who had promised her a committed relationship but instead ended up chasing other women while she was left to pick up the pieces. The singer's friends had warned her about her lover's dishonesty, but she chose to ignore them until she could no longer bear the pain. The lyrics convey her resolve to move on from the toxic relationship and send a "love letter" to her ex-partner, telling him that it's over and she can do better.
Throughout the song, the lyrics are full of contrast between what was promised and what was delivered. The singer was promised a committed relationship that differed from what her lover had with other women, but this was not to be. She also expected him to pick up after himself, but he became increasingly comfortable and complacent with the relationship. The song's bridge particularly stands out as it shows the singer taking action to leave the relationship behind. She packs up her stuff, writes a note with his name, and sets out on the road where she won't have to deal with the hurt and disappointment any longer.
Overall, "Love Letter" is a catchy and empowering song that speaks to anyone who has felt let down in a relationship. It highlights the importance of self-love and taking action to move on from toxic situations.
