Seesaw

But I've just come in half cut
And I know I won't sleep tonight
I just wanna call you up
But tonight I really fucked it up
'Cause I can't ever do things right
Down
We are not equal
What I did was evil
Cheating in the playground
We're on the seesaw but I'm the one to fall
Keep going down down down
We're on the seesaw but I'm the one to fall
Keep going down down down
Alone
Next morning I wake up
My eyes still caked in make up
And I can't believe I said those things to you
Baby, I didn't mean to but it's pointless trying to prove to ya
It's only something alcohol may do
Tonight we sat on the seesaw, watching me fall
Down
We are not equal
What I did was evil
Cheating in the playground
We're on the seesaw but I'm the one to fall
Keep going down down down
We're on the seesaw but I'm the one to fall
Keep going down down down
And now you watch me turn around
Just as you turn around I can see your body frown
No need for me to drown
Head is spinning out like a merry go round
But this love is not a playground
We're on the seesaw but I'm the one to fall
I keep going down down down down
We're on the seesaw but I'm the one to fall
I keep going down down down down
Down down down I'm falling
Down down down I'm falling
Falling, falling down
Down down down I'm falling
Down down down I'm falling
Falling, falling down
The lyrics of Nina Nesbitt's song Seesaw revolve around the concept of the seesaw, and how the singer's relationship is like a seesaw, where one person is up while the other is down, and the roles switch eventually. The song talks about how the singer had messed up their relationship due to something she did, which is likely cheating. She is remorseful and wants to make amends, but it's too late as her partner no longer trusts her. The seesaw is used as a metaphor for their relationship, where the singer is constantly falling and going down while her partner is rising.
The song begins with the singer coming home, drunk and unable to sleep, regretting her actions. She wants to call her partner but can't as she knows she screwed up. The chorus talks about how her partner was watching her fall and how their relationship is unequal because of her actions. The verses then talk about how she wakes up the next morning feeling guilty, but it's too late to fix things.
The bridge is where the singer tries to explain that their love is not a playground and that she wants to salvage their relationship, but it's too late as her partner has already made their decision. The last chorus repeats the same lines as the previous choruses, emphasizing the singer's constant downfall.
Overall, the song is an emotional confession about regret and loss, and how sometimes our actions have consequences that can't be undone.
