The band broke up after the release of their third full-length Shorthand Operation. According to vocalist Jeff Suffering at the time, the album "quite possibly could be the best record I'll ever record." Explaining their breakup, Suffering said "we had a rough tour and nobody wanted to continue playing in 'Christian' music industry."
After breaking up, Suffering and guitarist John Spalding went on to form Raft of Dead Monkeys with label mate members of Roadside Monument. Suffering later went on to form the still-active Suffering & the Hideous Thieves. He also contributes to Mars Hill Church in Seattle, Washington, USA.

Heresy
Ninety Pound Wuss Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
I'm nothing less
Torn apart inside myself
A dripping bloody mess
I need your love, your strength to guide
Facing life renewed
Each day in you I never need
Materials, health, or wealth
And some of us demand as much
Using heresy as our crutch
But I refrain belief in these lies
Your body's not corrupt
No and I don't need
True holiness does not make me rich
I refuse to believe that I am a god
And can speak to make anything exist
I will suffer everyday because of these lies
You've turned God into a pagan myth
Then you say I have not received
The holy ghost into my life
Or that I have victory in Christ
Give up these lies, give up this myth
Give up your pseudo-Christian belief
Accept the truth Christ is God
Give up these lies you heretic
At first glance, the lyrics of the song "Heresy" by Ninety Pound Wuss might seem confusing due to the use of religious language. However, the lyrics speak to a broader theme of religious hypocrisy and the way in which some individuals use religion as a way to justify their actions or beliefs.
The singer declares that they are "justified" and "sanctified" in God, but at the same time acknowledges their inner struggles and flaws. They are aware that they need God's love and strength to guide them through life, and they reject the idea that material possessions or wealth can bring true happiness. They express frustration with those who twist religion to suit their own desires and use "heresy as a crutch" to justify their actions or beliefs.
The singer also rejects the idea of their own god-like status, acknowledging that true holiness is not about personal gain or power. They encourage others to give up their false beliefs and accept the truth that Christ is God. The song as a whole can be seen as a call for authenticity and honesty in religious belief and practice, and a rejection of the ways in which religion can be co-opted for personal gain or control.
