The original iteration of No Fun Haus released their debut EP Harley's Cassette on August 20, 2019, with live performances beginning soon after. Harding would later leave the group sometime in 2019, turning No Fun Haus into Tiesworth's solo project. After starting up a YouTube channel and releasing a few singles (including To Be Alone from the video "How To Tame Impala"), No Fun Haus would drop its second EP Songs 4 Jubilation on January 31, 2020. After releasing several non-album singles, No Fun Haus released its debut album Fetch, Pup on November 19, 2021. Shortly after, Tiesworth moved to Burlington, Vermont, where the No Fun Haus project is based to this day. Since then, Tiesworth has assembled a full No Fun Haus band and has released demos with them on Bandcamp, reflecting a new emo and folk-based direction. The current band features Tiesworth on guitar and lead vocals, Alex O'Boyle on guitar and backing vocals, Will Beacom on bass, Jacob Breslin on drums. The first full release under the new formation would be the album "Afters," released on October 13, 2023.
Your Driveway

Rolling papers on the highway
Wish I had everything my way
But sideways these things go
So I say
Who's going to class this Friday
I don't think I'll pass but it's my
Lazy river in my inner tube of solitude
Oh, these days
Oh, I say
Oh, these days
In your driveway
Oh, these days
Oh, I say
Oh, these days
Oh I say
I may not have much but I'm flying
I can't be the man of your dreams
But you can bet your ass I'll keep on being me
So please refrain
From driving so fast you're not healing
The scars of your past
The birds up in the sky ain't judging who comes in last
Oh, I say
Please refrain
Oh, oh I say
Now I'm flying
Oh, I say
Please refrain
Oh, now I say
Now I'm flying
Now these sound waves
Are healing my brain more than a pound cake
Eaten in shame
Empty spaces all around so I'm driving my car downtown
My heart ache
Beating faster and faster, oh these days
I don't wanna crash her
But the airbags push me back into my lonely place
The song "Your Driveway" by No Fun Haus tells the story of a person who is lost in their own world but finds solace in a particular driveway. The opening line "Rolling papers on the highway" suggests that the person is on the go, perhaps searching for something or trying to escape reality. The chorus, "Oh, these days, oh I say, oh, these days, in your driveway," implies that the driveway is a safe haven, a temporary respite from the chaos of the world outside. The lyrics further describe this safety zone by referencing an "inner tube of solitude" and asking "who's going to class this Friday?" which suggests a feeling of detachment from the mundanity of everyday life.
The singer acknowledges that they may not have everything they wish for, but they are content with their current situation. They declare, "I may not have much but I'm flying. I can't be the man of your dreams, but you can bet your ass I'll keep on being me." The song then takes a turn towards cautionary advice, as the singer warns against driving too fast and not taking care of oneself. The lines "Please refrain from driving so fast you're not healing the scars of your past. The birds up in the sky ain't judging who comes in last" suggest that slowing down and taking care of oneself is more important than trying to keep up with others. The final verse describes the singer's emotional state--their "heart ache beating faster and faster"--and their fear of crashing, but feeling the safety of an airbag pushing them back to their lonely place.
In summary, "Your Driveway" is a song about finding a temporary escape from reality in the safety of a particular place, acknowledging one's limitations but still holding onto one's sense of self, and warning against neglecting self-care.
