Consumed by Fear
Noctuary Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

I beseech you all, my calling.
For the fate of all, believe.
Fall from the light, and bathe in the darkness.
I release my soul, take me away.

...we call upon.
Taking my life, I'm dead I breathe.
He came, the shroud, to embrace with the black.
The fallacy of your god, destroyed by truth

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to Noctuary's song Consumed by Fear are rich in symbolism and emotion. The song speaks to the agony of being trapped in a cycle of fear and despair, and the desperate search for a way out. The opening lines, "I beseech you all, my calling. For the fate of all, believe," suggest a plea for help or guidance from some higher power. The singer seems to be searching for meaning and purpose in the face of overwhelming darkness.

As the song progresses, the singer seems to give in to the darkness, "Fall from the light, and bathe in the darkness. I release my soul, take me away." The imagery of falling is a powerful metaphor for succumbing to despair and hopelessness. The singer is willing to sacrifice everything in order to escape their pain.

The final lines, "He came, the shroud, to embrace with the black. The fallacy of your god, destroyed by truth," suggest a rejection of traditional religious beliefs. The singer seems to have found their own truth, one that is shaped by their experiences of suffering and loss.
