Live Forever
Noel Gallagher/Oasis Lyrics

How your garden grows
'Cause I just wanna fly
Lately, did you ever feel the pain
As it soaks you to the bone?
Maybe I just wanna fly
Wanna live, I don't wanna die
Maybe I just wanna breathe
Maybe I just don't believe
Maybe you're the same as me
We see things they'll never see
You and I are gonna live forever
I said maybe I don't really wanna know
How your garden grows
'Cause I just wanna fly
Lately, did you ever feel the pain
In the morning rain
As it soaks you to the bone?
Maybe I will never be
All the things that I wanna be
Now is not the time to cry
Now's the time to find out why
I think you're the same as me
We see things they'll never see
You and I are gonna live forever
Guitar Solo
Maybe I don't really wanna know
How your garden grows
'Cause I just wanna fly
Lately, did you ever feel the pain
In the morning rain
As it soaks you to the bone
Maybe I just wanna fly
Wanna live, I don't wanna die
Maybe I just wanna breathe
Maybe I just don't believe
Maybe you're the same as me
We see things they'll never see
You and I are gonna live forever
Gonna live forever
Gonna live forever
We're gonna live forever
We're gonna live forever
We're gonna live forever
We're gonna live forever
The lyrics of Noel Gallagher's "Live Forever" speak to the universal desire that many people have for transcendence - a transformation beyond our everyday mundane lives, a longing to live forever. The song speaks specifically to the pain of mortality and how it makes us yearn for something greater. The first two lines of the song "Maybe I don't really wanna know how your garden grows" can be interpreted as the singer not caring about mundane day to day things, such as how one's garden grows, but instead wanting to transcend their current state. As the song progresses, the chorus repeats the phrase "Maybe I just wanna fly, wanna live, I don't wanna die, maybe I just wanna breathe, maybe I just don't believe," which speaks to the desire to live forever and the continuation of life itself.
The lyrics are also reflective of the theme of youthful rebellion that was the hallmark of the Britpop movement of the 1990s, of which Oasis was at the forefront. The song has a sense of defiance against the established norms of society and a belief in the ability of the individual to achieve greatness. The lyrics encourage the listener to be themselves, to not be afraid to buck the system, and to live life to the fullest.
Since its release, "Live Forever" has been hailed as an anthem for a generation and has become one of Oasis's most popular and beloved songs, gaining a reputation as one of the greatest British rock songs of all time.

There's just sometimes in your life you'll need to be sad. Maybe you've lost a loved one, maybe you've lost love, maybe you've lost hope and soul, maybe you just don't know what to do. But in these sad times, we have the music. The music has no opinion, it can't judge you. But it can reach out, it can be your friend, it can show you all the great and wonderful in life. And that's what Oasis did. They were our friends. They were our loves. They were and will forever be here for us. That's a beautiful thing isn't it?

So beautifully written, as if came from the depths of your soul. If I could set your words to music it would be a hit.
But I can't. Only the few chosen ones can make us feel alive again when we feel what you so eloquently said.
Oasis shall live forever in the hearts and souls of us all.
Thank you.

Liam's version gives you the idea about a man who have still got a lot of fight in him and standing strong while Noel's version gives you the idea of a tired man who is on the verge of giving in but still clinching to see the sunrise
