Considered to be one of Australia's more successful rock bands of the late 1980s, their self-titled debut in 1987 had a series of successful singles, such as "No Lies," "Take Me Back," and "Welcome to the World." The band's second album, 1989's Touch, proved to be less successful commercially. Noiseworks disbanded in 1992, shortly after the release of the group's third album, Love Versus Money (1991).
Stevens has forged a successful solo career since Noiseworks with the albums Circle and Ain't No Life For The Faint Hearted. He went on to become the lead singer of INXS, but left after when he became frustrated with the band's lack of progress in generating new material.
2012 - The Band are in the studio recording a new album and touring later this year!

A sea of faces crying out
With all we have today
You think we'd stop and take a look now, yeah
And all I want to say
Is maybe that we should reach out, everybody
Reach out and, reach out and
Reach out and, reach out and
Reach out and touch somebody
In this old world we all can see
So let's take away the silent fears, yeah
With all of our mistakes
You think we'd stop and take a look now, yeah
And all I want to say
Is maybe that we should reach out, everybody
Reach out and, reach out and
Reach out and touch somebody
Reach out and, reach out and
Reach out and touch somebody
Reach out and, reach out and
Reach out and touch somebody
Reach out and, reach out and
Reach out and touch somebody
The lyrics to Noiseworks's song "Touch" express a message of compassion and reaching out to connect with others. The song calls for people to take notice of those around them, to empathize with their struggles and to make an effort to support them. The first verse speaks of people's need for connection and understanding, as they cry out for someone to acknowledge their presence. The chorus then calls for action, urging people to "reach out and touch somebody."
The second verse emphasizes the importance of overcoming the "silent fears" that can isolate us from one another. The song recognizes that everyone makes mistakes, but suggests that we have the power to move beyond them by connecting with one another. The repetition of the chorus emphasizes the urgency of this message and the need for people to take action.
Overall, "Touch" is a poignant reminder of the importance of human connection and the impact that small acts of kindness can have on others.
