Teardrop
OST House M.D Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
When you call
The way you hurt me
It's a wonder I'm still here at all
Someday you'll wake up
And you'll find yourself alone
Lock, stock and teardrops
I can't go on
The way you make me feel
You make me cry
And every time expect me to forgive
Someday you'll wake up
To a cold and lonely dawn
Lock, stock and teardrops
I'll be gone
Oh someday I'll wake up
And find the strength to carry on
And lock, stock and teardrops
I'll be gone
Lock, stock and teardrops
Lock, stock and teardrops
Lock, stock and teardrops
I'll be gone
The lyrics of the song "Teardrop" from the House M.D. OST speak of a relationship that has gone wrong. The singer is tired of being hurt by their partner and is ready to leave. They express the hope that someday they will find the strength to do so. The repetition of the phrase "Lock, stock and teardrops" emphasizes the sadness of this situation.
The first verse expresses the singer's recognition of the pain they are going through because of their partner. They have been hurt so much that they no longer have the energy to keep running back when their partner calls them. The singer questions why they are still here.
In the chorus, the singer warns their partner that someday they will wake up to find themselves alone. The singer will have left with all their pain and sadness, represented by the "lock, stock and teardrops". The repetition of the chorus shows that the singer is firm in their resolve to leave this toxic relationship.
In the second verse, the singer admits that they cannot continue to tolerate the way their partner has been making them feel. They have been made to cry repeatedly, and their partner always expects to be forgiven. The repetition of the chorus reinforces the cumulative frustration that has led the singer to leave.
In the third verse, the singer expresses hope that someday they too will find the strength to carry on without their partner. They will take all their pain and sadness with them and leave, finally escaping the toxic relationship.
Overall, "Teardrop" is a poignant song about the end of a relationship that has caused deep emotional pain. It speaks to anyone who has struggled to find the strength to leave a toxic relationship behind.

This was such a perfect intro. I'm rewatching House now and it's just not the same without that song. I guess I'll just have to keep this open and play it at the start of every episode to get the full effect, lol.

@AnandRaiSays
The best thing about this intro is
The show always starts with someone suffering or randomly fainting but suddenly this music kicks in and we see House with a look on his face which says ' I ll handle it bitches, i was bored anyway '.
