They had fun. You should have fun. They screamed until they couldn't scream any more. They broke up.
Southern Lovin' says: "I first met O Pioneers!!! when I was 18 years old, which would have made Eric about 20. They were on one of their first tours, right after ‘Black Mambas’ came out. My friends and I loved the Pioneers because they sounded like the bands we were into Against Me!, Hot Water Music, The Broadways but also seemed like totally normal, honest punk rock kids, just stoked on life and having a great time, and their songs reflected that fast-paced, relentless guitars cranked as loud as their amps would go and hoarsely shouted vocals stretched to the brink of collapse from too many nights of reckless screaming.
Over the years, they would always make a point to pass through town for a show, and it was always exciting and inspiring to see how they had grown both as a band and as people. Now, three years later, we’ve all grown up a bit. The wide-eyed excitement of youth has become clouded by the pitiless rigors of the real world, long workdays have taken their toll on weary backs, and fizzled relationships have left a slightly jaded lilt to our words, yet we still carry onward with the same fires burning beneath us. These attitudes are presented in typical Pioneer fashion on ‘Neon Creeps’, as a raucous, jangled melody leads venomous words spit forth between beaming smiles underscored by only the slightest hints of melancholy. O Pioneers have finally grown into their own sound and created a record that I am incredibly proud to share with all of you."
"Neon Creeps" was put out in 2009 on Asian Man and Kiss of Death Records. They had their final tour at the end of 2011. Eric and a majority of New Bruises are forming a new band called Black Clouds.

O Pioneers!!! Lyrics

You've ever wanted it to be
When you are nailed to a cross,
And sold out by your best friends
If your not and your words are bound
To your wrists like I love you is to hate
And we all know, we all Know it's 100% due
You will get what you deserve
And I wake up every morning
And see a thorn of crowns above my smiling face
Its sad but true
We are martyred by by our closest
By our best friends
When you're nailed to a cross
And sold out by our best friends
If your not and your words our bound
You get what you deserve
I get what I deserve!
And go ahead and talk your talk
And go ahead and walk your walk
Go ahead shit talk now
I'll get the best of you either way
And I keep my enemies close to get what I deserve
The lyrics of Enemies on Speed Dial by O Pioneers!!! describe a betrayal and the hurt and anger that result from it. The singer addresses someone who has been betrayed by their closest friends, and who now feels bound by their words and unable to express themselves freely. The image of being nailed to a cross suggests that this person has been made to suffer for something they did not do, and the line "we all know it's 100% due" adds a sense of resignation to the situation. The singer then asserts that everyone will get what they deserve, and talks about waking up every morning to see a thorn of crowns above their smiling face, which suggests a sense of martyrdom. The chorus repeats the refrain of getting what one deserves, and the final lines reveal that the singer keeps their enemies close so that they can eventually get revenge.
Overall, the song conveys a sense of bitterness and anger at the betrayal of friends, and a desire for justice and revenge. The use of religious imagery, such as the cross and the thorn of crowns, adds a sense of depth and solemnity to the lyrics, while the repetition of the refrain emphasizes the idea of getting what one deserves.
