Their first record "Najvaznije je biti zdrav" (The Most Important Thing Is To Be Healthy) came out in 1990 for the first indie record label in YU "Search and Enjoy." At first, O.P. was against publishing, but they finally did after 10 years of constant touring. Their shows were mostly on the territory of ex-Yugoslavia.
In spite of hard political situation in Yugoslavia throughout next 10 years, band succeeded to publish and promote 5 more LPs + 1 live, trying to keep up the pace with the best in alternative music, as much as technically was possible in this region of Europe. O.P. were the first Yugoslavian band with their video clip broadcasted on MTV's "120 minutes" and also they were on John Peel's tracklistings in 2002. They were an opening band for PLACEBO concert in Belgrade, 2003. Also, band O.P. is one of the rare bands that performed at EXIT Festival every year from its start.
During the 20 years of O.P. existence, its members were changing, but for the last few years the members remained the same.

Štipaljka
Obojeni program Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
U glavi se nešto lomi
Reka jeste danas gladna
Ali problem nije hrana
Prišao sam reci tiho
Gde se kriju ti motori
Koja snaga koji život
I dok plove misli bola, strasti, sreće
Ja se pitam kojom snagom jos se krećem
Reka nosi sve probleme
Ja joj za to kažem hvala
Idi reko svojim tokom
Jer ja nisam tvoja hrana
The lyrics of the song Štipaljka by Obojeni Program on the surface tells a story of a man standing by the riverbank watching the Danube flowing calmly, while his thoughts are in turmoil. He tries to alleviate the burden of his problems by talking to the river, asking about the motors and their strength, but he realizes that his problems are insignificant compared to the mighty force of the Danube. He acknowledges the power the river holds and thanks it for carrying away his problems, yet he asserts his own independence by telling the river that it is not his source of sustenance.
However, the song's lyrics can have a deeper meaning. The symbolism of the river as a potent force that can take away one's problems can be seen as a metaphor for the human psyche, which can be used to cleanse oneself of negativity. In this context, the lyrics may be interpreted as a call for self-reflection and introspection.
On the other hand, the lyrics' mention of the motors' power and the reference to the strength of life may be seen as a critique of modern society, which values power and wealth above all else. The singer of the song seems to be disillusioned with the shallow values that people hold and longs for a deeper, more meaningful existence.
Overall, "Štipaljka" by Obojeni Program is a song that encourages individuals to contemplate the power of their inner selves, to consider the values they hold dear and to go beyond superficiality to seek answers that transcend societal norms.

I dok Dunav mirno teče
While the Danube flows calmly
U glavi se nešto lomi
Something is breaking in my head
Reka jeste danas gladna
The river is hungry today
Ali problem nije hrana
But the problem is not food
Prišao sam reci tiho
I approached the river quietly
Gde se kriju ti motori
Where are those engines hiding
Koja snaga koji život
What power, what life
Problem moj je tako mali
My problem is so small
I dok plove misli bola, strasti, sreće
While thoughts of pain, passion, and joy float
Ja se pitam kojom snagom jos se krećem
I wonder with what strength I'm still moving
Reka nosi sve probleme
The river carries all the problems
Ja joj za to kažem hvala
I thank it for that
Idi reko svojim tokom
Go on, river, with your flow
Jer ja nisam tvoja hrana
Because I'm not your food
