Their self titled debut record, was produced by RED songwriter/guitarist Jasen Rauch and was mixed by Brian Virtue (Breaking Benjamin, Chevelle, My chemical Romance, Cavo). The album is a refreshing blast of melodic hard/alternative rock, drawing deep from the band’s personal experiences. With the song, “See what I see,” lifting off from an infectious guitar riff into a blistering song with emotional lyrics in which lead vocalist/frontman Chris McCoy belts, “watch the world with bloodshot eyes/ maybe than Ill see what you see/a cold embrace that sucks you dry/ leaving you so sick and empty”. Just one listen is all it takes to realize that this band is the real deal. “Lyrically I came at this with my uncle in mind” States McCoy. “He passed away several years ago. The family watched him slowly kill himself through alcohol and It was a hard truth to deal with because he didn’t want to be helped.”
Oceans Divide was founded by lead vocalist/frontman Chris McCoy and guitarist Eric Varnell in Spokane, Wa. The duo solidified the line up with the addition of drummer Silas McQuain, and twin brothers Dan and John Goodman(Bass and Guitar respectiveley.)
“Although we’re a young band, we’ve all known each other for years” says McCoy. “The chemistry is great and we have the same goals musically. This band just feels right.”
Take the aggressive riffs of active rock, add it to the story telling of a modern day poet and the hooks and melody of what makes a song so infectious it stays stuck in your head for days and you begin to understand Oceans Divide.

Turn around to see your grin
I'm going crazy (I'm going crazy)
Say to look the another way
Should I make you fell my pain
I'm thinking maybe (I'm thinking maybe)
Cause it's fall from over
And where the dark turns into light
I will bleed you alive
I wanna watch you break
I wanna see you fall
I'll be the one
Who put your back against to wall
I'll take away your pain
So make you bleed again
Just to see you crumble right before my eyes
Try to dive into your minds
Look inside and you'll find
You're going crazy (your going crazy)
Think you know me all too well
Make your life like living hell
Should I let me be, should I let me be
Cause it's fall from over
You'll soon be mine
And where the dark turns into light
I will bleed you alive
I wanna watch you break
I wanna see you fall
I'll be the one
Who put your back against to wall
I'll take away your pain
So make you bleed again
Just to see you crumble right before my eyes
Cause it's fall from over
You'll soon be mine
And where the dark turns into light
I will bleed you alive
I wanna watch you break
I wanna see you fall
I'll be the one
Who put your back against to wall
I'll take away your pain
So make you bleed again
Just to see you crumble right before my eyes
The lyrics of Oceans Divide's song "Break" are about someone who is full of anger and resentment towards another person, and wants to see them suffer. The singer of the song is vengeful and sadistic, reveling in the idea of causing pain and destruction. The lines "calling up beneath my skin" and "turn around to see your grin" suggest that this person is preoccupied with thoughts of the other, dwelling on their every move and facial expression. The chorus consists of the repeated phrase, "I wanna watch you break, I wanna see you fall," which emphasizes the singer's sadistic tendencies.
Throughout the verses, the singer describes their desire to inflict pain on the other, through physical harm or psychological manipulation. They want to see the other person's life become a "living hell," and take pleasure in the idea of causing them to crumble. The lines "I'll take away your pain, so make you bleed again" suggest that the singer wants to both inflict pain and then provide some relief, only to inflict more pain later on. The overall tone of the song is one of malice and viciousness.
