Ochoa Eliades Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
The lyrics of Ochoa Eliades's song Volver describe the singer's return to a place that holds painful memories but also his first love. The flickering lights in the distance are the same ones that illuminated the hours of pain experienced by the singer in the past. Despite not wishing to return to that place, there is an undeniable pull that brings him back to his first love. The quiet street echoes with reminders of the past, but the stars above mockingly watch him return with indifference. The singer reflects on how time has passed and left its mark, with silver snow turning his temples grey. He acknowledges that life is fleeting and that even 20 years is nothing in the grand scheme of things. The restlessness of his gaze still searches and names his love in the shadows, while he clings to a sweet memory that makes him cry once again. He confesses to being afraid of the past that will return to face his life and also the nights that confront him with memories that chain his dreams. Despite this fear, he knows that the traveler who runs away will eventually stop and face their demons. Even though the singer's old illusions have been killed by forgetfulness that destroys everything, he holds onto a humble hope that is the fortune of his heart.
