The song "Anifowose" by Olamide is an uplifting and motivational piece that speaks of the struggles of life and the resilience of the human spirit. The title is a Yoruba name that suggests the song speaks of someone named Anifowose. The song's opening verse is a call and response that repeats the name "Omo Anifowose" and an affirmation in Yoruba that "whatever happens, the child of Anifowose will overcome". This sets the tone for the rest of the song, which speaks to the challenges of life and the triumph of the human spirit over adversity.
Throughout the song, Olamide speaks to the struggles of ordinary people to make ends meet in a society that does not always reward hard work and perseverance. The lyrics talk about people who are hustling just to survive, from the farmers who raise black goats and grow the IFA root, to mothers and fathers who work multiple jobs just to put food on the table. In the midst of all this, the song's narrator finds hope and strength, recognizing that even in the hardest of times, the child of Anifowose will ultimately thrive.
The lyrics are full of cultural references that speak to the Yoruba roots of the song. The mention of Osun, the goddess of fertility and prosperity, serves as a reminder of the importance of divine intervention in the lives of ordinary people. The references to Ayinde and King Wasiu Ayinde Marshall are tributes to the legendary fuji musician and cultural icon whose music has inspired generations of Nigerians. Overall, the song celebrates the resilience of the human spirit and the ability of ordinary people to overcome the challenges of life.

I'm so heartbroken that millions of people watching this could not understand every single word in this song.. I can bet you that you will surely shed tears assuming you understand the information this guy is trying to pass.. Anytime I'm feeling down, I used to put the music on replay in order to give myself the hope that no condition is permanent and that things are gonna be alright for me someday just like this guy. This young man was trying to tell us never to forget our roots and how rough his humble beginning was and that is what millions of African children are passing through but we still hope for better days despite all our challenges. Just that he lost both parents shortly after he became famous and rich.
It's my language, it's my culture, it's my tradition.(Yoruba language is so amazing)
Proudly Nigerian

@GamingXenZen
Music is a universal language. You really don't have to understand the language to connect. Plus the music vide is very self explanatory

i am Cameroonian but i really love naija. you make Africa proud . For years now i have listened and dance to their songs. i am just watching this song for the first time at 5:59am and i cried. I remember people thought i will be nothing , my uncles, and growing up as an orphan you guy know what it means. but "one day na one day" as the say, though don"t have much yet but at least I made a bold step and I only realize after watching this video and listening to it. I understand nothing about the language but I felt it. Olamide, " no be lie, you talk am, life na je je" look, we know nothing of tomorrow but with hope, we are guaranteed. where ever you are. even in that country you are, yet struggling and people looking up to you, it will be ALRIGHT!!!! if you can't endure then you are not worth the end result, i will say it in pidgin. "even for thief no easy. so my brother then ,you dey oyibo or anywhere, it will happen. olamide , i said much cuz my emotion just go up. tears just dey run down my cheek. chaii!! life no be small thing." My motto be say i go makam.
