My Favorite Things
Olivia Ong/Olivia Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens
Bright copper kettles
And warm woolen mittens brown paper packages
Tied up with strings
These are a few of my favorite things

Cream colored ponies
And crisp apple streudels
Doorbells and sleigh bells
And schnitzel with noodles
Wild geese that fly with
The moon on their wings
These are a few of my favorite things

Girls in white dresses
With blue satin sashes
Snowflakes that stay on
My nose and eyelashes silver white winters
That melt into springs
These are a few of my favorite things

When the dog bites when the bee stings
When I'm feeling sad

I simply remember my favorite things
And then I don't feel so bad

Can't choose between the Kids on the Slope version or this one. This is so good!

A hauntingly beautiful interpretation of a classic song from the Sound of Music. The more I listen to it the more I am mesmerized by Olivia's lullaby-like voice. I actually first heard her singing back in 2005, when she made her debut album. Thought her music was then kind of too slow and dreamy for my taste. Fast forward to 2017, and I have rediscovered Olivia and begun to appreciate her music. Too bad she abandoned jazz in favor of Mandarin pop. Who knows what might have happened had she persisted with her jazz music.
