Their two biggest hits came from soundtracks. "Breakin'... There's No Stoppin' Us" was the theme to the movie Breakin' and hit #9 on the Billboard Hot 100 and #1 on the Hot Dance Music/Club Play chart. It also reached #5 in the UK Singles Chart. to this day that time period of the early eighties will forever have a soft spot in my heart.i get a lump in my throat when i watch these old videos or hear old tunes like this.it takes me back to the time of innocence and the golden years of my childhood.things were so much better back then,the current generation has no idea what they missed from the great music to tv to movies.so glad you posted this video!!

That was a brand new set on Soul Train back in the fall of 1984. This was the dance set from 1984 the end of the Breakdancing era thru house music and right the New Jack Swing era til 1993.

LOL.I always thought it was Tot-Tot, I didn't learn differently until I watched the credits a few years later, and then it was confirmed that his stage name was indeed Hot Tot. And you know what, I did hear rumors about him dying back in the day from a broken neck during a head spin. I'm not sure if that's true or just another urban legend. Thanks for reminding me about that. He was a talented kid nonetheless!

Answer to your question in breakin 1 and 2 the lil boy that played the CHARACTER AND DANCER NAMED HOT TOT IN BREAKINS 1 AND 2 REAL NAME STREET NAME IS"" LIL Coco "" and hes not dead hes much alive and hes the greatest child street dancer thats ever lived he was a og at 6 yrs old , hes married and has kids and one of his daughters is dancing and following in his foot steps .

Ok the first person to teach Lil Coco how to pop was a girl name Diane Williams there called her Queen Boogaloo , she's from Wilmington calif, Lil Coco started dancing at 4 yes old , she taught him how to dance until he was 6 yrs old , then there's a true story to this I will say I was like Coco childhood guardian on set I took him to all his auditions so I know everything about his dance history , Boogaloo Shrimp taught Lil Coco how to pop lock , after he turn 6yrs old , and yes he learn how to lock a little from shabadoo , theres alot to this I'm just going to tell you a little bit

@rudy juarez wow Rudy I never knew that. I also read that Lil Coco started dancing in order to support his siblings because his mother had passed away. It is wonderful you were pretty close to Lil Coco and a lot of other breakdancers. I would have loved to meet Michael "Shrimp"Chambers, Adolfo "Shabba-Doo" Quiñones, and Lil Coco. They sound like they are pretty cool guys.

Remember when the inner city was an authentic means of artistic revolution (among other forms of revolution)? Seriously, I am tearing up right now... almost catching lighting in a bottle then; enter the fucking gangs, turf wars and crank into the goddamn picture. Just like everybody else, i heard that Hot Tot broke his neck doing a head spin. I was in the third grade when the rumor was going around, almost 30 yrs ago. No one has heard or seen the guy since, so it might be true. I even tried to Google him, and nothing.

Lil Coco hot tot from the movie Breakin 1 and Breakin 2 is alive and well he never died , he doesnt preform to much anymore , hes a father and a husband , he has a daughter name hanna pop that preforms and he supoerts his wife and kids in everything they do .

I disagree mam. I KNOW that they are different songs BUT and however there is a clear similarity. Not just the obvious but the melody and beat as well. Substitute the lyrics in the original and compare. A SIMILAR occurence was a song called "My Preroggative" sung by Bobby B and produced by Teddy Riley. Christopher Wiliams shortly thereafter sang "I Talk To Myself" produced by former band member of Guy and new nemesis Timmy Gatling. But I respect your opinion nonetheless.
