Get It Together
Omari T Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Dude, it's just, it's tough
Nah I get it
Are you breathing
Saw you trying
Stop your crying
Get a hold of me
In an instant, you were distant
It's kind of funny
Baby, can't you see
No one's trying to break you
No one can save you
No one can breakthrough
I'm trying to save you
What can I do
How can I prove
But every single night, I see it in my dreams
The man I want to be is not the man you need
This is my Rolling Stone
By the Weeknd, give me a blunt rolled with the greens in
And by the weekend, I'll get two tracks done
Every night is spent with my garçons
You know how I get around June
Do know that when I'm alone I'm pouting down on my phone
Looking at my huh
Hey slatt, can you take that shit to overdrive
Tell me how many rhymes do I gotta write until you respect all the
All the imagery
Sitting in this tree, listening to beats
I just want to be somebody
I know that that starts with me
You'll never get to me
It's my world, oh, can't you see
If I die, I left my mark
And the world will lose its spark
I cannot come with this nasty flow every day
It's all about having those moments
For every time that I could've died, I wrote a song and released in the morning
Okay, I get it
I stress from all the things that came wrong in the last year
But that's on me
Yea, it all starts with me

Believe in me
Believe in me

I actually thought of a really fun context. What if Sunny and Mari swapped instruments? It wouldn't make sense but lemme explain.

Parents usually pay attention to the youngest a lot more, well stereotypically the youngest gets everything they want. Sunny wants a piano? He gets a piano, his parents want him to be a musical prodigy so he plays in recitals. Mari sick of the lack of attention, asks for a Violin, parents say no, Sunny over hears and the friend group surprise Mari with a violin! Works kinda the same. Mari gets mad because shes so far behind compared to her younger brother and she feels jealous. Sunny tries to consol her saying "It'll be okay." and "We'll do our best together." Stuff like that. Mari throws her violin down the stairs, tired of her brothers constant nitpicking and perfectionism that, in her eyes, he's pushing on to her. Sunny tries to stay calm in this situation being like, "We worked hard to get you that violin and I understand your frustration... We can rent a violin in the meantime before we're able to buy you a new one." Ya' know? Trying to be supportive and while Sunny is trying to hug it out with his older sibling Mari didn't want to be touched and in a fit of rage and jealousy, she accidentally pushes Sunny down the stairs.

That took a lot of going over to make sure it makes sense, it makes little sense but like I thought of it on a whim-

[Edit] I'm actually surprised 24 people actually like this- This is so awful-

Fun fact, when fighting OMORI, you can hear the argument between MARI and SUNNY distorted in the background because SUNNY is trying to forget it.

@montelt7103

Wait really?
