Born and raised in Inglewood, California, Omarion rose to fame while still a teen as a member of the groundbreaking urban "boy band" B2K. His soulful vocals, riveting stage presence, and undeniable charisma helped B2K score a hit with the group's very first single, "Uh Huh," in 2001; achieve gold status with the group's self-titled debut album in 2002; and go RIAA platinum with the group's best-selling sophomore outing, Pandemonium! in 2003.
Omarion's undeniable media-geniality has led to numerous television guest appearances including "Punk'd," "The Sharon Osbourne Show," "Regis & Kelly" and the "American Music Awards." In addition to his musical performances, Omarion has acted on the big screen with key roles in "You Got Served" and "Fat Albert." Omarion stars in "Somebody Help Me," an innovative horror film directed by Chris Stokes and may be seen in the film "Feel The Noise" and Tyger ("Menace II Society") Williams' "Street Soldier."
For season five of America's Best Dance Crew on MTV, Omarion replaced Shane Sparks as a judge.
Currently he's signed to Rick Ross's label.

I've got a new chick every week I know
Don't use that to judge me
Come and get to know me
Hopefully I can show you just what I'm all about.
(You never know)
(Gimme a go)
Yes I'll beat your interest
(This is a show)
You won't be disappointed here's your invitation come on (right now)
Have you ever been with a star everywhere you go everybody knows you?
Have you ever been with a star?
24/7 red carpet,
Have you ever been a star?
It's obvious to see where you should be, with me have you ever been with a star
I bet you never thought I'd wash my own dishes
I take out the trash girl you know I'm kidding
I know you're assuming that it's just a song
Only chasing groupies you couldn't be ma wrong.
(You never know)
What you might be missin'
(Gimme a go)
Yes I'll beat your interest
(This is a show)
You won't be disappointed here's your invitation come on (right now)
Have you ever been with a star everywhere you go everybody knows you?
Have you ever been with a star?
24/7 red carpet,
Have you ever been a star?
It's obvious to see where you should be, with me have you ever been with a star
There's only so much I can say
To persuade you my way
(Oh girl) girl you need to trust in me
Forget about what you heard
Baby I'm gonna show you what I'm all about (baby)
Have you ever been with a star everywhere you go everybody knows you?
Have you ever been with a star?
24/7 red carpet,
Have you ever been a star?
It's obvious to see where you should be, with me have you ever been with a star
Have you ever been with a star?
Have you ever been with a star?
Have you ever been with a star?
It's obvious to see
that you should be with me.
Omarion's "Been With A Star" is a song that touches on the issues of fame and public perception. The lyrics describe how people see him on TV and in different videos with a new girl every week, but urges listeners not to judge him based on his persona. He invites them to get to know him personally and see what he's really about. The chorus suggests that being with him would mean embarking on a celebrity lifestyle, complete with red carpets and constant recognition. However, the song also tries to debunk some stereotypes associated with being a star, such as not doing household chores or only being interested in groupies.
The first verse sets the tone for the rest of the song by acknowledging that people have a preconceived notion of who he is, based on his public image. He then invites listeners to not be blinded by these assumptions and see him as a person. The second verse goes deeper into his personal life by mentioning some household chores that he does, which is a subtle way of saying that he's not the stereotypical celebrity that doesn't lift a finger. The chorus ties everything together by proposing a hypothetical scenario where the listener dates him and experiences a celebrity lifestyle.
Overall, the song's message is that being a star doesn't define who he is as a person, and that people should be judged based on their personalities rather than their fame. It's a plea for understanding and an invitation to see the real him beyond his public persona.
