Formidable
Omnium Gatherum Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Hold on
There is some
Believing to be done
Configure
The undertaking that is going on

Remember
It will always be formidable
The light is shining through

Keep the flame
Alive
In the dark
And understand
It burns for you
Through the dark

...And they who say
'You are still dying today'
Let them pray

It is a right
A privilege to st(r)ay away

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Omnium Gatherum's song Formidable can be interpreted as a call to action for anyone facing struggles or challenges in life. The song seems to urge the listener to believe in the mission or goal they have undertaken and to persevere despite any obstacles that may come their way. The word "formidable" itself means causing fear, apprehension, or dread, which suggests that the journey may not be easy, but it is worth it in the end.

The first two lines of the song, "Hold on, there is some believing to be done," imply that the listener is in the midst of a difficult situation, but they need to remain strong and have faith. The following line, "configure the undertaking that is going on," suggests that the listener needs to take action and make a plan to overcome the challenges they face. The repetition of "formidable" throughout the song serves as a reminder that the journey may be difficult, but it is important to keep pushing forward.

The lyrics also touch on the idea of the flame within us, which could be interpreted as a metaphor for our inner strength or passion. The lines "keep the flame alive in the dark and understand it burns for you" suggest that we should never give up on our dreams or goals, even when it seems like we are alone or facing insurmountable obstacles. The final lines of the song, "let them pray, it is a right, a privilege to st(r)ay away," could be interpreted as a message to anyone who doesn't believe in our journey or tries to deter us from our goals - we have the right to ignore their negativity and stay focused on our own path.

These guys really give it their all. I've seen Omnium Gatherum live in Helsinki, Finland and it was the best concert I've ever been to.

I love this song, the feel, the power, the bass solo. but I feel the video lacked a clear direction visually, especially since it just went all over the rest of the band, like it was searching for the solo but didnt catch it as the cameras never cared to catch the bass in the first place...

then again im a fellow bassist so I feel it deserves recognition
