1) ON/OFF is a Japanese band comprising of twins Naoya & Kazuya Sakamoto (坂本直弥 and 坂本和弥). They performed in the drama "Fuuma no Kojirou" and also performed its ending song "永遠の刹那"; the opening theme of the anime Vampire Knight, "ふたつの鼓動と赤い罪", is their second and more mainstream single.
2) English On/Off is an alias of UK electronica duo Posthuman.
3) On/Off: Patrick Shaw-Iversen & Raymond Pellicer
Fresh out of Oslo’s much-talked about “Grüneløkka” scene – where jazz and electronics meet in sweet harmony…On/Off are a perfect example of the Jazzland manifest – taking “purist” ECM jazz traditions on a timely ride in to the future, one foot in the alternative dancefloor – the other in the stratosphere. Patrick, well-travelled flautist, much in demand with the key players in the Norwegian Jazz scene – he has played world-wide with the likes of Bugge Wesseltoft, Sidsel Endresen, Audun Kleive, and Nils Petter Molvær. His unique Javanese and Balinese gamelan influence a perfect balance to partner Raymond’s electronics. Raymond, aka Dj Darknorse, Phono etc – is perhaps best known for his involvement as a major force in the Nils Petter Molvær “Khmer”…touring world-wide at leading jazz festivals and happenings, bringing his minimlistic tech-trickery to Nils Petter´s recordings and massive live experience. It would only be a matter of time before the two would hook up, aided and abetted by Dj Strangefruit, - Norway’s Dj “eminence grise” – also of Nils Petter´s band.

The lyrics to On/Off's song Signal describe a person who wakes up to a different morning than usual, with a never-ending signal that resounds in their head, preventing them from thinking clearly. However, amidst this chaos, they remember a nostalgic voice from far away that brings back memories they thought were lost. The singer cannot ignore the shining stars and holds them close to their heart, even though they are not physically near their loved ones. The person on the other side somehow understands that this connection is strange but still feels it, adding proof to their bond.
The lyrics then transition into imagining a dream someone else had of the singer, where they were gazing beyond the horizon, looking for the warmth that never fades away. In reality, the singer is searching for the same warmth somewhere deep down in their heart. They feel as if they have uncovered a door that once remained closed and can now fly through it effortlessly.
Overall, "Signal" delves deep into the emotions and experiences of a person who feels lost and uncertain in their thoughts. Still, they long for the connections they have with people who are not physically present, yet the bond remains unbroken.
