Opening with a version of the Randy Cantor and Michael Caruso co-written number 'None Of It Matters' (which had originally appeared on BLACK EYED SUSAN's 'Electric Rattlebone' album), 'Open Skyz' also includes the GLEN BURTNICK / David Prater written 'Every Day Of My Life' and a cover of SUPERTRAMP's 'Give A Little Bit'. In general the record, pursued a lighter, AOR direction than the VALENTINE album, Hugo's very Steve Perry influenced being far more in evidence harnessed to the production from Richie Zito.
OPEN SKYZ toured with MR. BIG until they were inexplicably dropped by the label and, extremely frustrated, the group swiftly fell apart, vocalist HUGO going on to pursue a solo career, debuting with a self-titled debut album on the Now And Then label in early 1997. Both Adam Holland and Gerard Zappa figured on subsequent HUGO outings.
