In 1999 Oratory signed to the Portuguese record label Recital, and released a four song EP called Last Prophecy. In March and May 2000, Oratory and producer Luis Barros recorded Oratory's debut album Illusion Dimensions. "The readers of the Portuguese magazines, "Loud!" and "Riff" voted Oratory Best Newcomer of the Year," following the release. "This was followed by shows playing with Tarantula, Edguy and Metalium."
Vocalist Marco Alves left in February 2001 and the band continued with Ana as the main vocalist. In January 2002, Oratory re-entered the recording studio to record their second album, Beyond Earth, with producer Uwe Lulis. Beyond Earth was released in Portugal on the 20th of May, 2002; December 2, 2002 in Europe, and February 2003 in the US.
In 2004, drummer João Rodrigues left the band due to personal reasons, and was replaced by Pedro Cabral, a former Oratory member.

In the Sky
Oratory Lyrics

Happened in the ancient times
Moon wasn't the same, we know
The brightest star, that the sky
Had ever seen
She was the brightest star, that the sky
had ever seen
The moments they had
Won't ever be forgotten
In the sky
She won't see the Sun again
That's why she's sad and lonely
In the sky
She lights the path of lovers
In the night, remembering
Fire and Moonlight
Will never be together
The prophecy took lovers apart
The song "In the Sky" by Oratory is a beautiful and melancholic ballad about a tragic love story that happened in ancient times. The lyrics suggest that the Moon used to be different back then, and the brightest star in the sky was a female entity. This star was not only beautiful but also vibrant and powerful, shining bright and lighting the path of lovers in the night.
However, the star's happiness was short-lived as a tragic prophecy took her and her lover apart. The two had some beautiful moments together that they would never forget. But the star's fate was to remain sad and lonely in the sky, never to see the warmth of the Sun again. The star's light still shines in the sky, but now it is filled with nostalgia and longing for what could have been.
The song's lyrics use beautiful and poetic language to convey a deep sense of sadness and loss. The vivid imagery of fire and moonlight being unable to come together despite their natural affinity is particularly poignant. Overall, "In the Sky" is a moving tribute to lost love and the enduring memory of those we have loved and lost.

Well that’s no surprise is it? If he did something positive about turning back the boats we could have afforded this project along with repairing roads, hospitals and schools. He is an absolute disaster of a Prime Minister and it’s time he was ousted!
