Let Me In
Osmond Brothers Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
You bend and you fold me, anyway you please
It must be easy for you, the loving things that you do
But just a pastime for you, I could never be
And I never know, girl
If I should stay or go
''cause the games that you play
Don't love me for fun, girl
Let me be the one, girl
Love me for a reason
Let the reason be love
Don't love me for fun, girl
Let me be the one, girl
Love me for a reason
Let the reason be love
Kisses and caresses, are only minor tests, babe
Of love lead to stresses, between a woman and a man
So if love everlasting, isn't what you're asking
I'll have to pass, girl, I'm proud to take a stand
I can't continue guessing
Because it's only messing
With my pride and my mind
So write down this time to time
Don't love me for fun, girl
Let me be the one, girl
Love me for a reason
Let the reason be love
Don't love me for fun, girl
Let me be the one, girl
Love me for a reason
Let the reason be love
I'm just a little old-fashioned
It's take more than physical attraction
My initial reaction is honey give me love
Not a facsimile of
Don't love me for fun, girl
Let me be the one, girl
Love me for a reason
Let the reason be love
Don't love me for fun, girl
Let me be the one, girl
Love me for a reason
Let the reason be love
Don't love me for fun, girl
Let me be the one, girl
Love me for a reason
Let the reason be love (love me, love me)
Don't love me for fun, girl
Let me
In the song "Let me In," the Osmond Brothers address the complex dynamics of a romantic relationship. The song speaks to a person who has been taken advantage of and played games with in a relationship. The lyrics express the singer's emotions and feelings of frustration, confusion, and uncertainty in a relationship. The opening lines, "Girl when you hold me, how you control me, You bend and you fold me, anyway you please," sets the tone of the song's theme. The singer describes his lover's hold on him and how she uses him only for fun.
He acknowledges that loving him is just a pastime for his lover, and she does it easily, while he finds it challenging to figure out whether to stay or go as her games keep driving him away. In the chorus, the singer pleads with his lover not to love him for fun but to let him be the one and love him for a reason. He wants her to love him for true love and not just for physical attraction.
The song stresses how important it is to have love for the right reasons, which should be sincere and genuine. The singer also mentions the tests and stresses that love can have, which seem to only grow more significant between a man and a woman as love gets deeper. Nonetheless, he maintains that he would instead take a stand than be repeatedly toyed with.

welcome to the wonderful world of the osmonds.
this is one of their best, imo, but they have a lot of terrific songs. check out 'let me in' for another favourite of mine.
i've loved them since the early seventies, and loved them during their {too long} period of not being cool. now as a middle aged man it's ok to admit i love them still, even if it is or isn't cool. i don't even know if they've moved into being cool. at my age, it doesn't matter anymore.
at this stage of my game it's all about love and joy, and making the most of what this beautiful life has to offer. and this family have been the epitome of that. in their industry which is filled with utter garbage and over sexed everything, they've always shared their light of love and purity.
they sound beautiful. harmonies to bring this world joy.
how much better a legacy could anyone leave?
love and peace to you and all,
xxxxxxx

we have been truly blessed for having this amazing family sing for us.
such a clean, good, wholesome family, in a world that so needs that. and such a pleasant departure for that industry.
what a joy they've brought to us.
how much greater a legacy could one have?
love and peace to you and all,
xxxxxxx
