In the winter 2006, Otenki was once again selected by myspace users to play the Taste Of Chaos with Deftones, Thrice, Story Of The Year, Funeral For A Friend, Greeley Estates, and The Recieving End Of Sirens. Otenki has also opened up for Armor For Sleep and Boys Night Out on their Invisible Sideshow Tour. Otenki has also shared a stage with Allister, So They Say, and October Fall.
With another self promoted tour under their belts in the summer of 2006 Otenki headed into the studio to begin work on a new album. With an armada of new songs and experience the band was eager to show their fans a glimpse of their potential. "With the new record people are going to be surprised by what we're doing. Our old sound was definitely more aggressive than our new songs and while we don't want to lose the energy the old songs had we're not the same group of people and I think our music will show that." said Hernandez. The new album is being self produced and will be mastered by Troy Glessner who has worked on Anberlin's-"Never Take Friendship Personal". "It was an obvious choice to work with Troy," states Asowata, "He is a real nice guy, very approachable and definitely was excited to work with us. We couldn't be happier to have him working with us."
After the album's release Otenki will head out on the road this summer to promote it. With thousands of miles traveled, countless shows, hardships, and almost three years under their belt this band is ready to take on the national music scene. "We're never scared of a fight. We've always been the underdogs and we've got our families, friends and fans behind us...this is our year."
One thing is for certain Otenki only has one desire and that's to spread their infectious form of rock n' roll to as many people as possible.
