Drinking Her Beautiful

She's a 2, Maybe a 3
Why does she keep looking at me?
She's got a face, made for radio
I look left, I look right
That old bartender ain't my type
It's just her I, I hope she leaves me alone

While I'm drinking her beautiful
But I've got a long way to go
Barkeep another round, pour a shot for me now
I'm drinking her beautiful

She's up to 5, maybe a 6
Did she just blow me a kiss?
I don't want to be rude, I might ask her dance
I give a wink, She gives a smile
Her missing teeth look kind of cute after while
I'm beginning to think, maybe I've got a chance

II:
Cause I'm drinking her beautiful
But I've got a little way to go
Barkeep another round, pour a shot for me now
I'm drinking her beautiful

I said baby with that nose ring,
Fake hair from Sears
Have you ever thought of starting
A modeling Career?
I've got some connections
Baby just say when
Cause through the bottom of this shot glass
Your looking like a 10

III
Cause I'm thinking she's beautiful
Hey baby would you drive me home?
Don't need another round
Put the shot glass down
I drank her beautiful!

Don't need another round
Looking up from the ground
I drank her beautiful!

Overall Meaning

Out of Ether's song "Drinking Her Beautiful" is a lighthearted and humorous song about a man's experience at a bar, drinking himself into seeing the woman in the bar as more beautiful than she might be in real life. The lyrics explore the man's thoughts as he drinks, starting from seeing the woman as a "2, maybe a 3" to eventually "drinking her beautiful" and believing she's a "10". The repetition of the chorus emphasizes the idea of drinking to make her appear more beautiful, as the man gradually becomes more intoxicated throughout the song.

The first verse sets the scene of the bar, with the man noticing the woman's attention towards him, but not reciprocating her interest. The second verse shows a shift in his thoughts, as he begins to consider the woman as a potential dancer and notes her missing teeth as "kind of cute". The bridge of the song is particularly humorous, as he suggests that she could become a model with his connections.

The song ends by suggesting that the man may be too drunk to continue drinking, as he asks her to drive him home. The repetition of the final line "I drank her beautiful" emphasizes the irony of the situation, with the man finally realizing the effect of the alcohol on his perception.

Overall, "Drinking Her Beautiful" is a light-hearted and humorous song that explores the effects of alcohol on one's perception of beauty.

Some of the lines go over some peoples heads because this is very personal diss track. And then they call those lines weak. But you need to know when he is referencing to Jay’s own songs or just street things or hip hop history.. so you need to know certain stuff so that this diss track makes full sense, i know there are probably things i dont know or get because they are so personal or i just don’t get the reference and there are a lot of that in this song.

But certain stuff like ”Who’s the best, Pac, Nas and B.I.G” (Jay’s Where Im From track: ”Who’s the best MCs, Biggie, Jay-Z, or Nas? ”) or ”Hawaiian sophie fame” (Check music video of Jaz-O - Hawaiian Sophie) or using Jays song for and mocking ”I WILL NOT LOSE” on the chorus. And Jay really saying that he’s better than Big with that ”If I ain’t better than Big, I’m the closest one”-line.

”And your man stabbed Un and made you take the blame”.
Jay needed that street cred.

And when Nas is talking about ”My child, I’ve watched you grow up to be famous
And now I smile like a proud dad watchin’ his only son that made it”. It is refering to that when Jay adopted slower rapping style after that fast style which he copied from Jaz-o (well copied even his name) or Fu-shnickens.
And Nas even makes money from Dead Presidents record for that sample and there are other records where Jay namedrops Nas as a fan.
”Wearin' Jaz' chains, no TECs, no cash, no cars
No jail bars, Jigga, no pies, no case
Just Hawaiian shirts, hangin' with little Chase”.
Basically Nas is saying that Jay wasn’t about that cokeselling lifestyle and nice double meaning with Hawaiian shirts, hanging with little Chase, since Chase was Jays childhood friend and Jay used to eat and sleep at his house when he had no money.

Nas calling Jay-z a Stan is not overexaggerated since:

”From 1996 up to their battle in 2001, Jay Z had name dropped Nas over 10 times in his songs, Nas felt Jay Z had an unhealthy borderline obsession with him.

Jay used to call Nas' phone when and leave messages like “Yo son, what’s up it’s me, uh me and Premo are doin a track right now, and uh there’s 16 bars open you wanna drop a verse
”

Carmen stated when she was with Jay he’d ask her weird questions about her and Nas, like what positions Nas liked to hit, and weird stuff
she said Jay-Z was obsessed with Nas. He had all Nas records, even most rare ones. But this source is from Carmen, so take it with grain of salt..

”How much of Biggie’s rhymes is gon’ come out your fat lips?”
There are too much of Biggies legendary lines used by Jay-z, and he doesnt deliver them nearly as well as biggie did but yeah.. paying homage..

But yeah there are more stuff but this is already too long..

Nas said:
"Rocafella died of AIDS that was the end of his chapter. And that's the guy you chose to name the company after? Put it together I roc hoes you roc fellas."

That was fucking genius. That was a serious work of art. Truly magnificent.
