Ozzy Osbourne Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
You should be a careful one tomorrow.
I heard them on the radio.
I saw them on the video.
I don't think I can take much more.
Led clones, led clones.
You've rolled into the kingdom of the sain.
I heard you on the radio.
I saw those crummy videos.
I don't think I can take no more.
Led clones, Led clones.
Got to get it on,
from the still of the night.
But you're gettin' it wrong,
you know it ain't right.
Ooh, yeah.
Ooh, yeah.
I saw them on the radio.
I heard them on the videos.
I don't think I can take much more.
Led clones.
Led clones.
Led clones, whoa.
Led clones.
Led clones.
The song "Led Clones" by Ozzy Osbourne is a song that criticizes the music industry and accuses it of lack of originality. Ozzy speaks to the idea that the music of the "tomorrow" should not be a replication of what has already been done in the past. He warns the musicians of the future to be careful about creating something new instead of just copying others. He has heard the music of the "tomorrow" on the radio and watched videos of the same. Osbourne despises the lack of creativity and the continuous recycling of music styles in the music industry today.
The lyrics of "Led Clones" also refer to the iconic British rock band, "Led Zeppelin". It is said that the band was influential in the music industry of the 1970s and it is clear that the song talks about how other bands were quick to copy their sound, and style. Ozzy Osbourne accuses these bands of stealing from Led Zeppelin's style and trying to exploit it to their advantage. In a sense, he is referring to the new bands as "Led Clones," as they are trying to replicate Zeppelin's style instead of creating something original of their own.
