Eclipse
P-Floyd Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

All that you touch
And all that you see
All that you taste
All you feel
And all that you love
And all that you hate
All you distrust
All you save
And all that you give
And all that you deal
And all that you buy
Beg, borrow or steal
And all you create
And all you destroy
And all that you do
And all that you say
And all that you eat
And everyone you meet (everyone you meet)
And all that you slight
And everyone you fight
And all that is now
And all that is gone
And all that's to come

And everything under the sun is in tune
But the sun is eclipsed by the moon

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to P-Floyd's song "Eclipse" touch on various aspects of life, highlighting the contrast and interconnectedness of experiences. The song reflects on the different sensations and emotions that encompass human existence. The repetition of phrases emphasizes that every action and feeling is significant and has an impact on the overall balance of life.

The lyrics suggest that everything we interact with, whether it be through touch, sight, taste, or emotion, influences our perception and understanding of the world. Love and hate are juxtaposed, indicating the presence of both positive and negative emotions in life. Trust and distrust, saving and giving, buying and stealing, creation and destruction, all represent the duality and complexity of our choices and actions.

Furthermore, the lyrics highlight the interactions and relationships we have with others. The mention of meeting and fighting with people suggests that our encounters with others shape our experiences and perspectives. The lyrics also acknowledge the transient nature of life, with references to what is now, what is gone, and what is to come.

The closing line, "everything under the sun is in tune, but the sun is eclipsed by the moon," creates a metaphorical conclusion to the song. It suggests that while everything in life may find its harmony and balance, there are still moments when something larger or more powerful can temporarily overshadow or disrupt that equilibrium.

Overall, "Eclipse" by P-Floyd encourages contemplation of the complexities of existence and the interconnectedness of every action, emotion, and encounter.

@Butzemann123

i had heavy anxiety attacks for several weeks like every night.
(with heavy i mean i woke up in a state of pure horror and ran out of the house in the middle of the night wearing only boxers and a shirt..)

I made some sort of a ritual to put myself together while being in fear of dying ,(i really thought i go insane)

Control breathing, put something cold on my forehead, going for a walk, making a tea and final step was listening music.
When i heard this song i actually started crying while laughing.
I had goosebumps all over my body and it felt like all the anxiety just swept away.
It was so strange and that i almost had another panic attack because it felt so strange xD
But eventually it got better and now everytime i feel like getting an anxiety attack i listen to this sing to bring me back to that experience and it helps!

@Beilmanimal

I must not fear.

Fear is the mind-killer.

Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.

I will face my fear.

I will permit it to pass over me and through me.

And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.

Where the fear has gone there will be nothing.

Only I will remain.

Do you know what the eclipse is? Very funny you'd say that. This occult stuff has its way of being in people's minds without them even realizing it.
